March is madness in basketball. Tech has a consumer electronics show. AI is waiting for its big moment – and this week can finally happen.
with MicrosoftConstruction and GoogleI/O Developer Conferences are getting back-to-back, it was already primary to be a big week. Microsoft alone announced 50 new AI tools, and Google chased with his own slate a day later. Then, with blue color, anthropic On Thursday, the latest version of its big language model (LLM) dogpild with Claude 4.
While the announcements of announcements consisted of some G-Vis Tinkets (we are watching you, Google Virtual Tri-on), anyone who looks at business with AI should find a lot and even see some new devices immediately to use some new devices immediately.
Struggle to keep up? Here are the biggest announcements from every company, and how will they change the AI landscape in the coming months.
Microsoft wants AI agent talk to each other
The agents represent a clear next step for LLM, giving AI to a human being like a human rather than just talking like one. But a major warning is holding them back: they cannot easily interact with each other. An agent AI who sees ticket books for business trip and another books that look great, until you land in London with a hotel room in Madrid.
Microsoft took a major step to solve this deadlock by adopting model reference protocol (MCP), which is a standard way for different agents – even those using separate LLM – to communicate. Anthropic actually made a standard in November 2024. Nevertheless, Microsoft’s adoption means that it is on the way to become a stability of future agentic architecture, as HTML was for the open web. Microsoft also added MCP to Azure AI Foundry, its device to create an AI app, so that users can start manufacturing agents that immediately interact with each other.
So what? Agent AI remains in its early stages, but a widely adopted standard will pave the way for the next generation agent tool. Standardization between the contestants means that you will have your own pick of garbage on the future LLM, when automatic, rather than closing in a single company’s ecosystem, while automatic.
Cloud swoops 4 coders
With only 3.3% part of the generative AI market, the chipt and Gemini often overshodd the cloud. However, the developers would not like to sleep on Opus 4 and Sonnet 4, who arrived unexpectedly with some major coding boasting rights on Thursday.
Perhaps most effectively, Cloud 4 has claimed to have up to seven hours of marathon runtimes in its “extended thinking” mode, which allows it to take thousands of steps and use tools such as web search. Anthropic claims that it will detect more approaches, catch more errors, and break its argument for more complex problems.
With these reforms, Cloud Oppus 4 shot at the top of the popular SWE-Bench software engineering benchmark with a score of 72.5%, making both Openai O3 (69.1%) and Gemini 2.5 Pro (63.2%) the best.
So what? While benchmarks do not always tell the whole story, Claude has already earned a reputation as LLM for developers. Cloud 4 further cement which is reputation with improvement to software engineering community, which will help to separate it from its more common-purpose peers.
Google Ai Mode Searchs Up
Google introduced a lot of consumers AI in IO 2025, from the above virtual tried to Google beam, which transforms 2D video streams in models like live, holograms with six different cameras angles and many AIs with the help of many AIs. However, the most resulting change for enterprises may be AI mode for searching.
Earlier, like the AI overview, AI mode integrates Gemini very well in the search experience. When you activate the AI mode search, Google executes a “Query Fan-Out Technique”, which breaks your query in many discoveries and executes them together, then stitches the results together. While this mode was earlier available to Google Labs users, this week, it is going into the mainstream.
So what? Even if you are not using AI mode individually, any change in Google Search sends waves to the pond for millions of businesses that depend on Google Search to pull the eyeball. AI interviews raised the search engine adaptation (SEO) industry, and AI mode could be even more dramatic. The way most people find information online, it is changing, and rapidly.
