If you want to move away from Microsoft Word, and Microsoft, or if you only want to support an independent and open-source project, there is a dizzy array of solid options. There are four who are great all-rounders, and who can walk on most PCs or laptops with an issue.

Calligra word
Calligra word There is a word processor from KDE, the same people who develop plasma – a popular Linux user interface – and apps such as KDE Connect, Crita and Kedenalives, all are fantastic.
The words Calligra are visually different from the Microsoft Word. Unlike Word Processor, your commonly used formatting and style settings are located in a large menu on the right hand screen rather than appearing at the top. In many ways, it reminds me how the user interface of photo-editing apps like Photoshop or GIMP is set.
The word Calyigra is definitely not many options as Microsoft Word, but it is higher than sufficient for most basic uses.
As the features run, it falls somewhere between WordPad (which has been closed by Microsoft) and Microsoft Word. When looking through the options, I had no problem finding the necessary things, such as the ability to format the layout of a page, apply numbering, manage quotes or add headers and foots. You can also add a drop cap if it is a beauty for which you are going.
In a stunning turn, I found that the caligra was much less irregular when handling the tables compared to the Word, which is a glued point over the years.
Drawing tools are also prominently painted, which was different.

The only real negative side? Calligra author is currently not available for Windows.

open Office
Apache Openoffis Microsoft seems to be like a combination of Word and Calligra author and feel. There is a standard ribbon of devices running with the top, And You get a large menu on the right which lets you adjust the properties of your current tool.
In addition to the immediate difference in the user interface, all settings and configuration options will be very familiar, and due to the menu of the right hand, they are easily accessible at all times. I could not find myself hunting for a setting or feature through different windows or sub-manus as I often do with Word, which was good.

The openofes feel that there is a slow release cycle compared to the Librarophis, which means that you are not getting the latest bells and whistles.

Onlyofffice
If you are looking for something that resembles Microsoft Word, Onlyofffice Your best bet.
The original UI that you mainly interact takes huge inspiration from the Microsoft Word, and when you dig through your options, most of them also get from the modern version of the Microsoft Word.
Finally, it was a familiar user interface that pushed me to use only on other open source options instead of any particular features.
Only the word in only does not have too much bells and whistles as the word, especially when it comes to draft, but it does everything that I need because I have started using it.

Libreoffice Author
Libreoffice Author The most common term is replacement that you will find on Linux Distros, and for good reasons.
The Libre writer has almost complete facility equity with Microsoft Word.

I could have saved so much time to see through the menu.
After testing this, most of the features Word states that the Libraofy Writer deficiency belongs to the cloud integration of the word, which the Libraofis writer does not have it unless you set it manually.
The major and most noticeable difference is the user interface (UI). The Libreofffice writer looks like a version of the word around 2008. It is not found in the way of its utility, but if you are used for more minimal interfaces found in modern office applications, it may occur.
There are some allowances in the no-frills approach. I have found that I hunt less for options or features in Libraofis writer than working in Microsoft Word, and menu – while buses – are slightly more intuitive to navigate. If I want something that came closest to mimic all the characteristics of Microsoft Word, then the Libreofffice writer would be my first choice. I imported some formatted word documents, to see if anything was broken, and was pleasant to know that nothing did.
The Libere writer was not made in a vacuum, either. It is packed as part of the Libraofy, including Libraofy Calc (an Excel equivalent) and Libraofis Impress (a powerpoint equivalent), as well as some other programs that you will probably find assistant.
Above and beyond their characteristics – which they mostly share – I saw a significant difference in performance. Where possible, I tested all four applications on several devices: a desktop PC -run window, now an old laptop that is running Kubuntu, and actually ancient opptiplex PC. Modern desktop Windows PC handled them all like a shampoo, and there were no noticeable display differences. However, on Optiplex, it was much slower than all others, while Caligra Writer and Libraofis writers were clearly more responsible. I suggest that you use one of them if you need a word processor on a low-power device-you are likely to be happy for it.
