While there are lots of streaming devices, Google TVs are a leap, mainly following the curtains due to Android-based OS. However, the default setup does not always give the best experience, and there are some Google TV settings that I always turn for better viewing experience.

Manage the recommendations of the content
During the Google TV setup, you are asked to input and enable your membership services and apps. Using this, in addition to showing you a list of apps and games on your device, Google TV also shows different types of other materials, such as TV shows and movies, on home screen. It provides an easy way to find new materials to stream and continues to see where you have left.
However, if you enable or forget service membership during the setup, it is easy to manage. To choose which services Google TV recommends on your home screen, follow these steps:

-
Scroll under the home screen.
-
Click Manage services,
-
Turn on or off the home screen recommendations for each service.
5
Disable auto-playing video preview
Similarly, in addition to displaying the recommendations, Google promotes significant amounts of materials on the home screen at the bar above the recommendations. Although this is beneficial for some users, it allows them to look at trailers and preview when searching for new materials, it can be annoying, especially since these video starts playing automatically by default. You can easily turn off these videos preview on Google TV:

-
open setting,
-
choose Accounts and Sign-in,
-
Now select the profile for which you want to disable video preview.
-
Scroll down and disable the togle for video preview.

Your smart TV has a lot of amazing features that you should make the most.

Turn off animation for a sharp experience
Similar to Android smartphone, Google TVs are available in various price limitations. Now-a-cold-tied chromecast with Google TV began at $ 40, while the new Google TV streammer is sold at an expensive $ 100. Other players also provide Google TV streaming devices, such as Xiaomi and Walmart. These provide separate hardware, but often struggle with processing.
One way to improve your Google TV experience is to disable animation. This gives more resources to process data rather than spending on providing animation to your streaming device. To do this, you must first enable developer settings and then disable the animation completely.
Here’s how you can start:
-
open setting,
-
Go SystemThen About this,
-
With selector Android TV OS Build NumberClick OK button seven times from your Google TV remote.
-
go back to System Settings, then choose Developer option,
-
In developer options, scroll down and set Window animation scale, Infection animation scaleAnd Animator period To Animation off,
This small twice can make a big difference in the performance of your Google TV device.
3
Enable apps-only mode
If you find Google TV’s default home screen very busy, then you should try Only modeThis mode turns off unnecessary recommendations from the home screen and puts your apps at the forefront.
However, it is worth noting that the apps only inactivate the Mode Google Assistant and Google Home Integration, and you will also be unable to download the new apps. For that, you only have to disable the apps again.
To mode only apps on your Google TV, follow these steps:
-
Go setting,
-
choose Accounts and Sign-in,
-
Select the profile for which you want to disable the home screen dislocation.
-
In profile settings, turn on the togal for Only mode,
choose Turn onAnd now you have a very simple Google TV home screen.
2
Set the user profile
Not more often, you are not the only one using TV at home. There may be other family members or friends using the same TV. In such cases, you can set a profile for each user, allowing everyone to have your personal recommendations and wrathis without combining them with the main profile.

To add more profiles to your Google TV, follow these steps:
-
open setting,
-
choose Accounts and Sign-in,
-
Click Add Account And sign in with the Google ID of other members using the QR code.
Try them, as it can streamlide your Google TV experience.

Bonus: Use a custom DNS
The domain name system (DNS) is like a phonebook for the Internet, turning the names of the website into an IP address. By default, most Google TVs rely on Google’s DNS server, and when they are rarely down, a DNS problem may be that some video streaming apps are buff on your smart TV.
Thankfully, you can easily switch to a custom DNS on your TV for better speed and better privacy, such as Cloudflare’s 1.1.1.1 DNS Service. Other benefits include advertising-blocking and ignoring material restrictions.
To change DNS on your Google TV:
-
Go setting And select network and Internet,
-
Select Wi-Fi that is connected to your device and is to go IP settings,
-
choose steady,
-
Do not change IP address, gateway, or network prefix length; Hit next,
-
Now, set a custom DNS on your Google TV.
Keep in mind that using some custom DNS servers can cause problems. In this case, just forget the network and re -connect to return to default settings.
