Apple’s latest update for MacoS 26“Taho” is named, and it is filled with new visual design elements such as Apple’s liquid glass design theme, better integration with iPhone, a more strong spotlight feature with shortcuts and a more individual desktop.
In fact, this year the theme of all the updates of Apple is streamlining both views and feature sets, while Apple provides more apps and features punctured by Intelligence.

I have been using Mcos Taho on my MacBook Pro for the last few days, and I am already enjoying the update. In fact, despite the visual design overhaul, I argue that some of the most impressive updates are less attractive – such as adding widgets to the desktop and new shortcuts that work with the spotlight.
Here are the top five best features of Macos 26.
1. Phone app on mac
The phone app has finally come on MACOS, which allows a more streamlined user experience between your iPhone and your Macbook. Now you can use recent calls and contacts synchronized by your iPhone, and in the same way you can call with the same click. What is more, the phone app will include new features added in iOS 26, including hold assist and call screening.

In addition to calls and contacts, live activities from iPhone will appear on your Mac, such as tracking delivery from Uber or Seamless. Clicking on live activity will open the iPhone Mirror, which will allow you to take action directly from your Mac. This is a smart way to streamline your devices, and one which is a long time over -over.
2. Liquid glass and visual stability
Apple dropped a major visual overhaul for iOS with his liquid glass design theme, and then brought many of those updates to Macos. The new design aesthetics touches all aspects of Mcos Taho, but its adaptability also allows for a more subtle style.
Dock, sidebar and toolbar are re -designed in the same transportation look, the purpose is to show more materials on the screen without UI dislocation. In addition, you will look at round elements and add altitude, with transparency settings that are stacking the effects of elements on top of each other.

In the context of UI, you can also adjust how folders look on a finder or desktop. Just click Ctrl + a folder and click “Customize Folder” to bring the menu. You can change their colors and names, and even add emozis to them, which may look silly, but can act like icons you are able to add to Windows with all.
There are also many new wallpapers, and like the iPhone, Macs will support light or dark mode, all-calcare icons and dock themes, as well as customized color tones to match your personal style.
3. A clever, more powerful spotlight
The Macos 26 adds a handful of smart integration to the 26 spotlight feature. Instead of having only a simple search bar, Apple updates make it a more powerful control room that works with shortcuts, understands the natural language, and can perform app-specific actions.
For example, during WWDC Keenote, we saw a demo in a photo editing app, in which the user adjusts the color tone by searching for that function in the spotlight. In a complex app such as Photoshop, for example, if you cannot find a specific function, the spotlight can step up to act as a top-tiered search function.

In supporting additional productivity features, the spotlight will also have clipboard history and will allow you to create automation with Apple Intelligence to summarize text or create complex actions such as creating images. You can use the Apple Intelligence Model on your device or chatgpt.
In this vein, the new quick keys feature allows you to assign the command generally accessed, which is your own hotkeys with the action menu. How to do this here:
- Press the command + space to bring the spotlight prompt.
- Press command 3 to bring action.
- Start typing in natural speech to prepare a signal “Send a message to Ashlie.,
This will then give many suggestions. Use arrow keys to select the right one, and to the right, you will see the “Quick Key” text box. Enter an original string there like “Scene“Go ahead, when you invite the action field, you can simply type”Scene“And it will read that contact.
4. A more individual desktop
One of the most effective changes is one of the simplest changes: now you can add widgets to the desktop instead of retaining them in the notification center.
I am not a great fan of stacking the screen with widgets, but by having basics at a glance like weather, calendar and world clock on the desktop, there is a efficient way to reduce the click. The semi-cross-transalus design also makes for a cleaner look.

The new control center is also fully adapable, such as on the iPhone and iPad, allows you to choose which features you want to see and set how much space they take. I set it to the mirror of my iPhone, with the calculator and top left to the bottom with Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, and it is very easy to find the necessary settings that I click several times a day.
Some Apple Intelligence features starting on the iPhone will now be available in Macos, including a more strong, individual head. Apple Macos 26 is also opening, so third-party developers can start creating apps that actually integrate with Apple Intelligence. This is a smart step, allowing some breathing rooms to pursue their own AI features (which say something that have fallen behind the contestants), while external developers allow the developers to bring useful AI tasks in Mac.
5. Better shortcut
The updates of the spotlight and quick keys are made even more powerful when combined with shortcuts in Taho. The examples I have given are just iceberg tips, but users can create a complex shortcut, which triggers at a certain time of the day or at a certain time of the day. One of its simplest applications comes with automation feature – for example, at 9:00 am to “do not disturb” your MacBook swap.
But you can also install more complex actions, such as MacBook gives you the summary of the morning, which briefs the weather, reminders and schedules for the day at a certain time, or when you connect with the Wi-Fi of your office or add a certain accessory. Even better, updated visual menu of shortcuts include a lot of examples for the initial point to detect functionality.
Let’s talk about compatibility
All these updates look very good, but not every MACOS will be compatible with 26 taho. The old Mac with Intel processors will not support the new OS version, unfortunately. This means that M1 processor or any Mac later Be able to do Run the Macos 26, but most of the equipment before the 2020 mark will not make.

It carries forward everyone, but seals the deal when the old Intel-based model is phased, something like this we are expecting from Apple for some time. If you have a Mac computer with an Intel processor, you can still run the previous Macos, Sea, or its preceding, Sonoma, it depends on how old your device is.
