- Highpoint rocket 7604a raid card is half the size of previous repetition
- Distributes around 60GBPs using four Gen5 SSDs with no power cable
- The first review shows that it provides strong performance on both Intel and AMD platforms
Highpoint rocket 7604a is a PCIE Gen5 RAID card that targets professionals required by extreme sequential throwkuts in compact workstation.
While this large rocket makes on the heritage of the 1608A model, it manages to shrink about half the form factor while maintaining the same performance.
The 7604A fits a single-slot, a half-length in the configuration and is fully powered by the PCIE bus, in which no external power is necessary.
Removes previous record-holding models
Twwtown Recently reviewed the card, described it as a “excellent work of engineering”, which uses 59.8GB/s sequential throwput using just four m.2 Gen5 SSD.
The performance also accepts its previous record-holding model of the company. It receives it with a broadcom pex89048a raid controller and four Gen5 X4 M.2 slots.
The test spread both Intel and AMD platforms. Intel systems had an edge in benchmarks such as Envil and Blackmazic, while AMD took the lead in some file transfer scenarios.
Four Samsung combined with 9100 pro drive (Twwtown The note that the drive should be bare to fit the drive), the rocket 7604A acquired about 60GB/s sequential thrackput in the crystaldskmark. Site’s Senior Hardware Editor, John Culter said, “It is better than any AIC we have ever faced.”
At the Atto, it reached 54GB/s, achieved double throwput using eight important T705 drives with 1608A.
Twwtown It also reported that 7604A broke several lab records, with 93,000 points in the benchmark of Envil, which had crossed any previous flash-based AIC.
Users can configure software raid through Windows, which supports RAID 0 and RAID 1, or uses its own configuration utility to unlock additional options such as RAID 0 and RAID 1, or RAID 10. The card also supports the PCIE Gen4 SSDs, although the throwput decreases when used in that mode.
At $ 999, below its original asking price of $ 1999, the rocket 7604A is less expensive than its predecessor and many competitive solutions. This is not clearly designed for casual users, but no one requires the peak throwput in a constrained place, this card definitely distributes.
Twwtown It was awarded 98% (leaving some points for performance and value, but scoring maximum for quality and features) and named it the editor’s choice.
