Google Meat provides many features to make online meetings facilitated and productive. If this device is your favorite meeting tool, I have some suggestions to share with you.
Use the keyboard shortcut to hurry things
If you are not already, start using the keyboard shortcut of Google Meat to work quickly in this app. These keyboard shortcuts do you do many normal functions in your meetings quickly. There are some shortcuts to use:
- Ctrl+D: Mute or Anmute Your Mike
- Ctrl+E: Turn on or turn your camera
- Ctrl+Alt+C: Close or open the chat panel
- Ctrl+Alt+P: Close or open the peepal panel
- Ctrl+Alt+H: Raise or reduce your hand
To see all available keyboard shortcuts, while in Google Meet Meeting, press the shift+? (This is the shift key and question-mark key).
Change the layout to change the viewers’ view
One size is not all fit. Depending on the number of people you have, you can togle your meetings between different layouts to see the guests separately. Google Meat provides several layout options.

Look at these Google Meat features that you must have missed.
To access them, at the bottom bar of Google Meat, click on three dots. From the open menu, choose “Change the layout”. Then you will see the following options:
- Auto (dynamic): This is a default option where Google meets automatically determines the layout.
- Tiles (heritage): This group is a great option for discussion.
- Headlines: This layout focuses on a speaker.
- Side bar: Shows active speakers with small thumbnails.
Pin a speaker so that you can always see them
If you want to focus on a special meeting guest, you can pin their video feed. In this way, their video feed is always on your screen, no matter what is speaking. To do this, hover your cursor on the person’s video feed and click on the pin icon.
Later, to renew the person, re -hover your video feed and select the unpirmed icon.
Put the meeting on another (big) device
If you have a smart TV such as Crromcast-Saksham TV, you can meet your Google Meet Meeting on that device. This lets you see your guests on the big screen.

To do this, at the bottom bar of Google Meat, click on three dots. From the open menu, choose “Cast this meeting”. Choose the device where you want to have your current meeting.
Turn on the caption to not miss a single word
Google meat provides live caption, allowing you to hear what Speak is saying. This ensures that you do not miss any import negotiations in your meetings.
To enable this, click on the “Caption Turn Caption” (CC icon) in the lower bar of Google Meat.
To turn off the caption, click on the same CC icon again.
Hide your background to hide your dirty room
If you do not want your meeting guests see their cats playing behind you, you can blur or change your background. To do this, at the bottom bar of Google Meat, click on three dots. In the open menu, choose “backgrounds and effects”.
To blur your background, in the blur and personal background section, click on the icon first. To increase the spots intensity, click another icon.
To add your own image as the background, click on the third icon and upload an image from your computer. You can also use one of the available images as a background. Changes are applied in real time, so you do not need to click on any button.
Record the meeting and review it later
If you want to review your meeting later, you can record the meeting. Note that if you are using the Google Western account then you can only access this option. You do not get the option to record meetings in free Google account.

To record your current meeting, click on the three-dot menu and choose “Record meeting”. Google Meat will save the recording in Google Drive, which will give you quick and easy access to your recorded files.
Activate noise cancellation to weed unwanted sounds
Google Meat has an A-SAPC cancellation facility to weed unwanted sounds from your meetings. This helps you reduce the effects of sounds such as typing, fans and road noise. Note that if you are Google Western User then you only have access to this feature.
