Acer Computex is announcing a boatload of PCs and gadgets for 2025. But the hunter between new tablets, monitor, productivity machines and more seas is Triton 14AI, which became my most anticipated laptop of just the year.
The hunter Triton 14AI tops with an RTX 5070 GPU, but it makes sense that its compact size (3.5 pounds and 0.68 inch thick). In addition to the limit, this thing practically everything that I see in a premium notebook. It plays a cunning design, a group of fancy features and a grand performance – all stunningly plays in portable chassis. In some ways, calling it a gaming laptop is a type of dissatisfaction, as it is clear that Acer is designed to make this thing more completely.
For performance, the hunter Triton 14AI has an Intel Core Ultra 9 288V chip, 32GB RAM and 2TB SSD storage. Acer made a notch up one notch by arninging it with its latest sixth-jeer aerobad fans (which is made of metal instead of plastic) and a vapor room. But the potential cherry at the top is that Acer says that the triton graphine is the world’s first laptop to use thermal interface material. The company claims that the thermal capacity on more traditional pastes increases by 14.5 percent.
Meanwhile, Triton 14AI also comes with a 120Hz refresh rate and Calman verified certification with 2,880 x 1,800 OLED display. So not only this is correct, it also has a wide gamut that covers 100 percent of the DCI-P3 color spectrum. And unlike a lot of rival gaming machines, the hunter’s performance is touch-capable. For content creators, the laptop comes with a new haptic touchpad, which is covered with indigenous stylus support (and pens) by Gorilla Glass. This means that artists can use the track area as a mini vacom pad (with pressure sensitivity to 4,096 levels) while traveling.
Honestly, the closer you look, the more impressive this laptop is, because it seems that Acer focused on every small detail. Thanks to some help of AI, Triton’s 1080p IR webcam offers to detect human appearance, which allows it to automatically lock itself when you walk away or reduce the display when you are looking else Acer also coated both screen and laptop decks with an anti-fingerprint finish to prevent it from smooth looking.
Despite its thin dimensions, Triton also has a lot of connectivity. Two USB-C ports (one of which is Thunderbolt 4), two type-A jack, 3.5 mm audio, a microSD card reader and a full-sized HDMI support for Wi-Fi 7 with 2.1 connector. And because it is a gaming laptop, it naturally comes with a periphery RGB light.
Unfortunately, Acer has so far released the official US pricing for hunter Triton 14AI, which is almost certainly due to a shifting tariff position. But if European information happens, this will not be cheaper with a listed starting price of 2,999 euros. It is standing, but it makes sense to see the effective glasses of the laptop.
On the bright side, if you like hunter Triton 14 AI, Acer is also making a more economical brother in hunter Helios Neo 14AI. It has a single display, uniform intel core ultra 9 285h chip and up to a RTX 5070, but with a separate (and less elegant) chassis, Wi-Fi 6E and old fifth-jewel aerobalized fans. Like Triton, this one is not yet official pricing, but with it starting from 1,699 euros abroad, it does not exist almost as big as a hit on your wallet.
In addition to gaming, Triton 14 AI seems to be a great video editing station, which practically features enough performance to explode through everything else that you can throw it away. I am going to eagerly wait for its release (with Helios Neo) after some time in this summer.
