- Nissan revives Micra again, who is now in his sixth generation
- Cheap city car has been given EV treatment
- It is based on recent Renault 5 and has a lot of crossover
Nissan has revealed the details of the All-New Electric Micra, which will eventually be included by a heavy-rich leaf, an electrified version of its Juke SUV and soon in a refreshing line-up by the city car.
The Japanese markets, which are feeling the pressure of an increased competition and a temporary approach to electric vehicles, hope that this refreshing model line-up can inject a little enthusiasm.
The new Micra arrives at a time when Nissan has said that it will cut 20,000 jobs, shut down seven factories worldwide and stop many new car development programs until it can stabilize the ship.
With more than 40 years of history, Micra is certainly a nameplate recognition to shift some units and it is also based on the same underpinnings that have already received many awards and praise – Renalt AMPR Small platform.
Yes, this is the same as used for Renault 5 e-tech and recently launched Renault 4 electric reboots. This means that the new Micra gets two battery options, with 40kwh and 52kwh up to tombs.
In the small version, drivers get a range of 195 miles to play with 121bhp, but compact micra weighs only 1,400 kg … is not bad for a modern EV.
The larger battery option can manage the range of 253 miles and packs more powerful 148bhp electric motors that strengthen the front wheels. It is slightly heavy at 1,524kg, but the recharging is sharp, with 80kw rates, 15 to 80% top-up is allowed in about 30 minutes.
Sister company Renault has also offered its suspension system, braking and many driving modes, so it should be felt largely to drive nipple and imaginatively funny Renault 5 e-Tech.
In fact, here is a large amount of gallic effect, including inside, where double screen infotainment array, switchgear and dash all look similar on all massive.
To separate the two cars, Nissan has drawn to his past and added round LED day -time running lights like the echoed on the 2002 European Micra. However, these modern interpretations now do a small choreographer “Welcome Wink” when you unlock the vehicle.
The broad wheel arches, large -scale alloy wheels and a lower lip on the front give it a more aggressive stance on the road.
Oh, and what designers are saying “ice cream scoop” that go down, essentially an indent that is only pressed under the windows, “according to Nissan,” reminiscent of the shape, if the untouched is dragged on the surface of the ice cream, “according to Nissan.
Analysis: Stir of Old-Timmer Image
Micra has been a highly popular model for Nissan in Europe, transferring more than six million units in 40-odd years, but its image historically has given the elderly driver and the first-car of the budget to the vibes (in the UK), rather than that it is really desirable.
The latest version is the first in its long history that is not sold with a combustion engine and Nissan hopes that this fact, with co-development with Renault, will help appeal to young buyers.
Nissan’s European marketing boss, Arnod Charpentier, also told the auto car that Micra would be more expensive than the offer, it is expected that it would come as a more premium option.
But it is difficult to get away from many similarities between the new Micra and Renault 5, later with more vibrant, focal and much retro attraction … especially on the inside.
Borrowing from one of the most successful EV launch in recent years is probably not such a bad thing and let’s face it, the All-New Micra definitely looks much more attractive than the previous generations.
