Marvel fans expecting to catch the next “Avengers” films will have to wait a bit.
Marvel Studios announced a huge delay for just high-proclaimed “Avengers: Doomsde” and “Avengers: Secret Wars”. If you had your calendar sets for these epic shows, it is time to grab your eraser. Avengers need just a little more time to collect.
Originally set for release in May 2026 and May 2027, superhero Flix has now been pushed back from very important time. “Avengers: Doomsde” is officially proceeding on December 18, 2026, while on 17 December 2027 “Avengers: Secret Wars” lands. These are major changes from Marvel’s traditional early May launch dates, historically shut down the summer film season.
Marvel’s reshuffle has also shaken Disney’s widespread release schedule. “The Devil Viers Prada 2” now Snag “Avengers: Dumsde’s original May 2026 spot will be in the form of an early summer headlineer.
Marvel has not given the exact reason behind these delays, but given a large scale scope and star-staded cast, it is safe to assume that some complications are playing a big role in production.
Both “Doomsde” and “Secret Wars” have been designed to offer some beautiful major character crossover, which draw the heroes from “Avengers,” “Fantastic Four” and “X-Main”, which makes them very ambitious installments in long-running superhero saga.
Fans still have a lot to look forward, even though it means that it is waiting for a few more months to see. And now there is a lot of reason to be excited about being a Marvel fan, ie “Thunderbolts*,” aka “The New Avengers,” some of whom will now be painted in delayed films.
In addition, Robert Downey is returning to Junior MCU. He will not reprimand his prestigious role as an iron man. Instead, he is stepping into Doctor Doom shoes, one of the most mythological villains of Marvel.
Although this delay can be disappointing for some Marvel enthusiasts, history suggests that additional production usually is a strong, more polish final product. “Avengers: Doomsde” and “Avengers: Secret Wars” may require patience, but they are shaping to wait for waiting.
And until then, there is still a huge back catalog in the rest of MCU. This extra time may be exactly what you need to get up for the speed where the most powerful superhero team is still standing.
