I really like the iphone’s dynamic island, a tablet shaped cutout near the top of the screen of the device. This is a aesthetic manner to control your battery percentage, record voice notes and music playback among many other things. Since many MacBooks also have a display not, you can use an app to bring a dynamic island such as iPhone to your laptop. By doing this, the cutout looks like a useful design feature instead of a sudden interval in the screen, and some apps also allow you to transfer huge volumes and brightness adjustment popups in Dynamic Island.

I am using Germ On a macbook Without One notch and I still find it very useful. The developer of this app is known to focus on the design, as he did with Clack – an app that makes your Mac’s keyboard sound a vintage. Alecove’s clean condition update exposes useful information in a clever interface. It takes the amount and glow adjustment of your MAC to the popup and takes them to the rung. This is a better implementation than the spacious popup of Apple, which temporarily hides a significant part of the screen – a problem that they have fixed on iOS.
You can also use Alcove to keep a tab on the focus, change songs and reach playback controls. The app can also show some of these changes on your Mac’s lock screen. I also like the animation of the app, from the small visualizer that shows that when you play music on various subjects of brightness and volume sliders. If you choose a glow theme for the volume slider, the color of the slider turns from green to red when it is more than 80%.

This app supports gestures, so you can use horizontal two-finger swipes on your MacBook to go to the next song or go back to the previous song. You can use vertical swipes to expand playback controls or dismiss live activities shown on the notch.
What do you think so far?
You can try all the features of the app for a few days without paying, and once the free test is over, you have to pay $ 17 to continue using the app. The price may stand a bit for someone who only wants music playback control and nothing, but Alcove is one of the few apps that really rebuild the dynamic island of the iPhone on your Mac, just below all the delightful animations.
Other useful notch apps
There are many other apps that use MacBook’s notch well, but they are my favorite:
-
Notchnook ($ 25): It is another well designed app and provides some more features than Alcove and costs slightly higher. You get more widgets, shortcuts and even a mirror that lets you check your frame before the video call. Notchnook file tray lets you quickly create aircraft files or store them in a temporary shelf, making it easier to move the files around.
-
Mood (€ 7): You can use this app for music control, to dilute mass glow and volume control, and to choose those control slides. You can place them on the notch or use slimmer sliders in the middle of the screen.
-
Melodious ($ 4): This is a music-centered not app, which lets you connect to both Apple Music and Spotify. You can use it to show the playback control and currently playing songs, but it also includes a gesture-based playback control. If you do not want it on the notch, you can enable its mini player to show album art and playback control in other areas of performance.
