Reviewed dozens In the drone of all shapes, sizes and prices, I would recently come to the conclusion that small, light and cheap drones were the way for 90 percent of consumers. Premium drones, with all their equipment and flight rules, just did not understand. But then DJI launched its new premium-pris, jumbo-size flagship consumer drone, The Mavik 4 Pro, and fell in love again. Yes, this drone is seriously impressive.

But before I am an unprecedentedly good camera and deeply in the long range, it is important to note that Mavik 4 Pro will not officially be available in the US. As yet. Along with the issues going on around flight restrictions and security, a DJI spokesman told Wired, “Like many global companies, we have to adjust our market strategy as local conditions and industry environment has developed. While we do not have a time when we can introduce a product in the US market, we are monitoring the situation and actively searching for all possible solutions.”

However, Mavik is listed on 4 Pro B&H photo for $ 2,699Which is a teasing optimistic. It is not for sale, yet, but at least some hope.

    Focal hero

So does Mavik 4 Pro make great? It is mostly below the camera. Or camera, I should say. Like its predecessor, Mavik 3 Pro (9/10 wired recommendations), Mavik 4 Pro has three cameras. There is an ultra-high-spec wide-angle camera that participates with a little low-speed medium-telephoto and telephoto cameras. The counterparts of the three are 28 mm, 70 mm and 168 mm respectively.

They are all improving on cameras of Mavik 3 Pro. And the show’s star has a new 4/3 sensor capable of 100 MP photos and 6K video capture is 60 fps (or 4K at 120 FPS, for Slick Slow-Motion Playback), is with a surprising 16 stop of the dynamic range. It also has an adjustable aperture, allowing pilots to choose anything between F/2.0 and F/11.0.

The sensors of other cameras are slightly smaller in size, their video is limited to 4K resolution, and their aperture is fixed at f/2.8, but all three cameras can capture videos on 10-bit quality using D-Log, D-Log M, or HLG color profiles. In other words, all pro-quality are made for aerial movie making.

And better yet, it is all fitted on a completely new design of the gimbal that is capable of moving and bending independently. Not only does this mean that it can be pointed directly upwards, it can also rotate the correct picture-oriented material, which is completely formatted for the choice of tickets, Instagram reels or YouTube shorts.

All of the above Mavic 4 make some creative abilities to see the creative abilities. It is a luxurious aerial camera in almost any lighting position (28-mm Haselbad is particularly capable of night time, for example) and its speed and focal length limit of choice makes it incredibly versatile. If there is something else that is completed in consumer drones, image-quality intelligent, then I have to face it yet.

    Flight club

The flight capabilities of the drone are impressive, also, for the new time saving touch, like the fact that it has come out automatically, it automatically has powers. Battery life is now 51 minutes, a significant improvement at 43 minutes of Mavik 3 Pro, while the more aerodynamic design of the drone makes the flight faster and cool.

4 Pro is also the first Mavic model to come with a front-faceing lidar sensor, which is in association with a low-light vision sensor that attacks in all directions, giving this drone a very highly status awareness and anti-collision capacity, even in low-by-signs light situations. It works well with its tracking capabilities, which allows it to keep the camera correctly correctly on people, boats and vehicles while blowing it manually or autonomally.

Home abilities have also been upgraded. Increased visual skills of the drone now let it back to your take-off points without the use of GPS. I was able to move the point of the house to the current controller position instead of the take-off point, pelting the drone from a moving car or boat.

    Controller upgrade

DJI sent me a regular RC2 controller and new RC 2 Pro Controller ($ 1,299) Mavik to test with 4 Pro, and while the former works well, the RC2 Pro really improves experience. Its screen is large and bright and can rotate through 90 degrees to function more like a smartphone (it moves on Android, so you can install the third-party application), and when you lift the screen from the body, it is automatically on the powers. As a result of this movement, two thumb rods also popping, which means that you do not have to screw them every time you use the controller.

In all, Mavik 4 Pro represents a major upgradation on its already influential predecessor and the idea of owning a large drone once again makes very attractive. Although it is true that heavy drones are subject to lots of (often teduned) restrictions compared to ultra-lightweight models, but the flight makes it look like additional paperwork and care that when they do so, it seems like a payable value of payable price.

For the real price of Mavik 4 Pro, I would call it expensive but good value – you are really going to use the huge array capabilities of this drone. If you are just looking at something to go into the air and capture some good looking shots, very cheap DJI Mini 4 Pro (8/10 wired recommendations) require you all. If you want flexibility and power to make something special, then Mavik 4 Pro has this – and more.

I hope that the DJI Trump is able to navigate around the ongoing uncertainty of the Trip administration’s tariff, as it would be a true shame if this magnificent drone was not available in America.
