Universal Studio’s brand-new theme park, Epic Universe, opened their guild gates for the public last Thursday. This fourth park is the themed after the Universal Classic Monster Flix, such as the Magic of Magic, How to Train Your Dragon: Trial of Burke, and Dark Universe. For video game fans, the most exciting destination is the Orlando version of the acclaimed Super Nintendo World.
This is the third recurrence of Nintendo’s Mario-Centenary Theme Park and only after parks in the second, Osaka and Los Angeles in the US. However, the epic cosmic version Donkey Kong is the only North American place to facilitate the expansion of the country, originally an Osaka-exclusive. I visited the Universal Epic Universe during a special media program before my grand opening and spent several hours in search of every inch of the new park. Since we have widely covered Japan and California repetitions of the Super Nintendo World in the past, and the Orland version is particularly similar to the size and scope of Osaka Park (if not big), this piece focuses at the beginning of the US theme park at my time.
You can find the DK area on the back side of the Super Nintendo World, taking you to its forest with a large cave. It has been said that entering the Super Nintendo World seems like stepping into a Mario game, and the same while crossing the threshold in DK’s domain is correct. If you love the donkey Kong as much as I do, the park is a pleasure to see it because it nails the aesthetics of the series. Bright, colorful entertainment, speakers destroyed a rendering of DK Island swing theme when DK’s treehouses were reiterated, as well as abundant barrels, crates, and of course, check all boxes of bananas, bananas, DKC checklists. Only the negative side is a lack of tropical freeze love; I did not see a single snowflake. I cannot follow such elimination.
There is a suitable label for the “expansion” area, given its small size. The same ride, two shops, some minigames and a meat-end-gate stage are characterized, you are here for a good time, but perhaps not a long. Walking at the sites, my eyes immediately focused on the huge golden temple at the end of the region. It marks my cart Madness’s house for a rollercaster, which wraps around half the park.
Kid-friendly Yoshi’s adventure and AR-centered Mario Cart: Bausar’s challenge in the main area, Mine Cart Madness Super Nintendo is easily my favorite attraction in the world. As the line is filled with primet sculptures and wall paintings through a golden interior, you eventually face an impressive animatronic of Cranky Kong, who tells visitors about a stolen golden banana keeper for their parrots, squox. Hearing this strange, Cranky speaks English instead of her normal Shril Grunts, but it was good to see a probably life-size version of Og Kong Rocking in her chair.
The ride itself has been prepared after the level of fun and infamous mine carts from the game of the donkey Kong country. To hop four riders in a car, and after a quick cameo from Dixie Kong, which congratulates riders from maternity because they exit the station, you will take a small climb before flying down and surprisingly faster. It is an entertaining and appropriate chaotic Rome, which takes you through a mine shaft and eventually beyond a fiery river. A closer head-on confrontation with donkey and sister made my heart legally jumped. Presentation-wise, I love how the broken track segment in the ride is a la game, and I thought how our car navigated these classes. The answer is really quite simple, but if you travel then I will leave you to find out this.
Mine carts may not reversed standing drops or flip riders in Madness, but this is the best thrill ride in the Super Nintendo World. I rode it five times. I consider rollercaster, and I classify it as a moderate intensity experience; Perhaps a little too much for young riders, but can enjoy them for older children or big coasters. However, this is a very bumpy ride, and I cannot tell if it is by design. A section that saw the riders moving between the broken tracks had slammed me somewhat unpleasant against the sides of the car. This is a fun ride, but if you just eat, I will not advise to ride.
Like the Super Nintendo World, the attendees can play mini-game around the park. You will need to buy a power-up band to fully enjoy these activities, which reward coins and achievements for everything you do, tracked on the Universal Studio Mobile App. I enjoyed looking for scattered Kong papers, although they are relatively easy to see the small size of the area. There is a major challenge to collect puzzle pieces, which can only be obtained using a power-up band to scan some items affecting DK seal. A sharp eye is required to present them and it is very easy to remember. A balloon-topped barrel with a touchscreen offers a rough game, with the players to touch the screen rapidly growing icons such as banana coin, balloon, and even Donki Kong returns to a mirror mode items from the country. Getting an icon rewards your sticker on the app, so you have to play several times (at least five) to get them all.
The best and most involved games come as a rhythm challenge. Three couples of Bongos sit in front of a crate, with the seal of Rhino Rhino. Three people can work together to hit Bongos by defeating a song played through nearby speakers. Even if you are gifted in a rhythmic manner, it can be difficult to pull it based on the noise of the crowd, which can muffle the signs of music. I struggled to hear them with visitor capacity, which is now (ie, hundreds). A pair of flashing lights in the sink with beat and park attendant helps us, especially since you can fail this challenge. But if you can live on the beat, you are rewarded with rumble popping out of the box to grace with your horny appearance. This game is as fun to play as it has to look, and makes others entertaining to see the fact that you can lose, trying to cohabit Rambi out of your box.
Beyond the ride and minigames, you can meet donkey Kong at the time specified under your Treatop house. This is an impressive and very big mascot suit, and I appreciate that the park workers are happy to shoot photos and videos of your conversation with the big Log. I shared a handful of collision and a big, hairy throat. I think he liked me.
If your money needs a new house, buying a fly fly ‘N’ of cowardice, a shop prepared after the airplane of Funky Kong, offers a good selection of DK-branded merchants (which you can also catch in Nintendo Store outside the Super Nintendo World). For people with a sweet teeth or who want to cool with a scorching fluorida summer, the bubbly barrel provides a single, exclusive treatment: DK Crush Float. In this huge treatment, banana and pineapple -tasted soft serve, which is a mixed ice cream with pineapple soda, which tops with sprinkles, toffee pieces and caramel popcorn. It is served in a waffle bowl, which you can take to a plastic cup (for $ 12.99) or a collectible DK barrel mug ($ 18.99). I suspect that the latter will be a more popular option as you can keep and reuse cool DK Mugs. I did not take a sample of this treatment – I could feel my blood sugar that it was just looking at it – but it looked tasty and looked enough (mostly) justifies the price. Funny, neither the shop accepts bananas as payment, which seems like a major violation of immersion.
This may not be big, but the donkey Kong country is a very good expansion for the Super Nintendo World. As a person who rides more exciting rides in the theme parks, my cart madness is an excellent addition, especially if you are overwhelmed by Yoshi and Mario Cart ride as I was. Otherwise, it is another fun entertainment of one of my favorite platforming series, and in this summer later the donkey Kong Canza is to make me more excited (potential intention) effects. I don’t know if we will get another park expansion (Zelda, please) for the Super Nintendo World, but the Donkey Kong Desh is a strong start.
