When Microsoft releases a new major update in Windows 11, the company wants you update your computer, and so remove the previous versions quickly. In a relatively rare trick, Microsoft Windows 11 is rolling some updates for 23h2 and 22h2.
Microsoft has issued a non-protection update for Windows 11 23h2 and Windows 11 22H2. These updates were first revealed at the end of 2023 and in the end of 2022 respectively. 22H2 was removed in October 2024 last year, while 23h2 is scheduled to reach the end of life on November 11 this year. Therefore, it is very surprising to see the Microsoft release update for these two versions in the first place, and the fact that they only facilitate updates instead of safety updates adds to strangeness.
So what is really in this update? For one, Microsoft Win + C is adding shortcuts, which fire Copilot in these two older versions. Because your operating system can be depicted, but Microsoft does not want you to miss the easy ways to reach the copylot. I would not be surprised if this is the reason that Microsoft wanted to roll this special update in older versions. When the company wants to push users something, it goes into all ways. If you do not remember, when Microsoft released the chromium-based version of Microsoft Edge, the company famous Windows 8.1 and Windows 7 users was famous for the updates, despite the fact that Windows 7 was no longer updated.

This is not just addition, at least. Microsoft has added a new FAQS section directly within the OS ‘Settings menu. Under the system and then almost on the page, this section can give you some quick answers to the questions commonly asked about your PC and Windows 11 operating system. Another user-supporting reform focuses on file sharing. When you draw a local file from the file explorer or desktop, a new tray interface will now appear on top of the screen. This will display the application suggested to share or open the file quickly. If the app you are looking for is not immediately suggested, you can choose a “more” option, which will then open the standard Windows share window to give you more options to share or open.
The best course of your action is to take 24h2 updates now. This is free, it will give you a lot of features, and it will protect your PC for another year. 25h2 is also getting closer. It is a preview update, and a more final version should roll on your computer within the next few weeks if you have a version of these.
