Google Maps Street View and similar tools allow you to almost navigate the real -world locations from the ground, even if you cannot interact with what you see. A new tool of AI Startup Odyssey provides an experience in AI-based places, with which you can interact, and it is generated in almost real time.
Odyssey calls it “interactive video”, an AI-powered world that reacts to your actions. You can use your keyboard to detect forests, stores, parking sites and buildings, using your keyboard, which move your keyboard that move you.
The system is estimated and shows new parts of the video so fast that it looks like a video game mixture and a strange dream. The interactive video uses what Odyssey says a “world model”, which simulates a visual environment in response to your tasks.
Unlike a traditional video game, where every texture, conflict and landscape is prepared ahead of time, Odissi’s AI comes with you that you see on the fly. Each step you take inspires AI to provide a new frame, which tries to make an understanding of your speed in the context. It is essentially a video that reacts like a video game.
Behind the curtain, the system generates a new video frame in almost every 40 milliseconds. It is faster enough to make the experience feel fluid, even if it is sometimes stutors or legs. The target is not yet photorialism.
Odyssey is more interested in accountability. The idea is that AI creates a story of your exploration, as you revolve around instead of relying on pre-written stories.

You can see a clip of some of my explorations above. The scene of a low-resolution combined with the ambient soundtrack made it seem that I was in a low-budget avant-garde film, or possibly to kill and my case was given to some bizarre but magnificent European detective. The texture is soft and slightly blurred. Walls sometimes wave. I also went on the water at a point.
But this is real, the way the graphics of the early 90s’s early video games are realistic. It is like a terrible video that looks at my eyes after 30 years of early cellphone shots, or how to 30 years. Then, Doom once looked like a future, and I took a lot of terrible video on a flip phone, because I could and because I did not care that each pixel was the size of a pea. Odissi is still a mess, but it is impressive, accusing more than a few people of lying to inspire more people to respond to social media.
Odissi is well aware that they still have to work. The company itself describes the experience as “a messed dream”. ,
Still many technical, moral and basic efficiency questions are to be answered, but assuming that they are addressed to people’s satisfaction, you can extract a lot of interesting uses for Odyssey. With adequate training data and fine-tuning, you can produce personal experiences that are compatible with your interests and style.
Imagine to find out that the secret of the first mentioned murder is mentioned where characters react to your suspicion. Or a history lesson where Julius Caesar comments on your terrible Toga-tie technology.
Then, this may also mean that there may also be advertisements where product placements literally move on you to attack a chat. Wobbly visuals, inconsistent physics, and lack of story logic are important obstacles, but it can be the size of all types of entertainment.
