Google announced several new features for Gemini in I/O 2025 last week, and now it is already adding another. From today, Gemini can watch videos in the drive for you, taking notes on what you are important or need to find that tidbit of information.

It comes after a Google workpiece “feature drop” a few months ago, which added several useful enhancement in the tool suit, such as Google’s AI video generation tool automatically the ability to complete the next stages, and expand the “translation for me to me”.
Google reported that a video can contain a lot of information, and sometimes, it is only convenient or possible to go back and see everything again. With this Gemini feature, you can get the information you need very fast.

Gemini already has the ability to analyze files in the drive, including PDF, text files, word documents, powerpoint presentations and Google Docs files
To use this feature, you will need to use Gemini in the drive, not the standalone app or the assistant of your phone. Double-click on a video from the Google Drive file list to begin, and click on the “Ask Gemini” (The Star button) in the top right corner.
For now, this feature is available only to customers with business or enterprise schemes, Gemini education or Gemini education premium add-on customers and Google an AI premium customers. If the previous rollouts are any indication, this feature will probably expand to more users in the front months.
