After receiving 152 mold reports in the air conditioner, which includes 17 reports of consumers experienceing related symptoms, remembering the 1.7 million units sold between March 2020 and May 2025.

Smart air conditioners were sold under several brand names, including Media, Comfort Ire, Denby, Frigidear, Insignia, Keston, LBG product, Mr. Cool, Perfect Aar and C Brees.
They were sold at retailers and online sites such as Midea.com, Amazon.com, Costco.com, Menards.com, Homedepot.com, lowes.com, walmart.com, bjs.com, bjs.com, Bestbuy.com and included 8,000, 10,000 and 12,000 Btu.

How to get a repair or refund
The Midea is offering a free repair or a full or reward refund to consumers, based on the date or date of the purchase of your air conditioner.
If you want to receive a refund, you have to send back the unit back to the media (the company will provide a shipping label) or submit a picture, showing that you cut the unplugged power cord of the unit.
