If you are an AT & T customer, it’s time to start checking your credit report and update your password. Your AT and T credentials are currently sitting in a database for sale on underground hacking forums.

Your AT and T information can be for tombs – again

Researcher on Hacked In 2024, hackers selling a database of 86 million customer records stolen from AT & T data breech have been seen. The database was posted on 15 May at a Russian Cybercrime Forum, and then on 3 June, after which it also appeared on other forums.

The exact number of exposed records is in conflict. Hackread’s claims were stolen 86 million records, while a post selling database claims 70 million records. However, it is a theft data which is a matter of great concern.

    What can you do here

    Hacked

Hackd analyzed the leaked data and found the following information on sale:

    • Full name

    • Birthday’s

    • phone numbers

    • Email address

    • Physical address

    • Social Security Number (Total 43,989,219)

To make cases worse, the birthday and social security numbers listed in the database were initially encrypted. However, hackers have since succeeded in decrying them, and information has now been included as a plain text.

In simple words, if you are an AT & T customer, your name, address, birthday, phone number and SSN are part of the leak database.

This is not the first time AT&T has been violated and its data is listed for sale. In July 2024, a previous data violation affected almost all cellular customers, but the company did not feel that the stolen data was available online. Another violation occurred in March 2024, which affected the customer data of 2019 and earlier, affecting 7.6 million existing and 65.4 million pre -customers.

This latest database for sale was clearly collected over time from various data violations. This includes August 2024 National Public Data Brech, where a hacker leaked more than 3.2 billion SSNs, with other personal information. As long as the AT&T officially confirms this, we cannot say what violation the data comes from.

The analysis of hackd shows that the latest leakage is “well structured, clearly formatted, and divided directly into three CSV files,” it is very easy to understand what each field is represented. All already encrypted SSNs have been “carefully decryed” and mapped in this new database, so until this database was extracted from AT & T, someone has gone to large lengths to add data together with many violations to prepare this database.

Here’s how to fight back against data leaks

The best way to protect yourself forward is to change your AT and T account password, set multi-factor authentication if you are not already, and actively monitor your credit for any signal of fraud. You can also consider freezing your credit as a way of protecting your credit if your data was dissolved.

After the violation of my data, here is how I have protected my accounts

The sooner you walk, the safe you will follow any type of data violation.

In addition, keep your eyes open for any scam or fishing efforts that hackers can throw your way. Leaked data is highly sensitive; With this much information, it is easy for hackers and scammers to impose you online. This means that your friends and colleagues are also at risk.
