Xbox began its annual summer showcase with a blast, Announcement of a new dedicated handheld in less than 10 minutes in showcaseBut perhaps even more surprising than the Xbox is that it finally shows that Hallu Knight Silksong, one of the most anticipated games of every year since its announcement, will come to the console to launch this holiday.
The showcase may still show a proper trailer for Team Cherry’s metroidvenia sequel, but as it stands, we all saw that the heroes were some new clips of the hornet platforming, which were attacking enemies through a dangerous-looking area filled with spinning blades and accepting enemies of various bug-shapes.
The game was at an Xbox summer showcase three years ago, when promised to launch for some time within the next 12 months. This was clearly delayed. The last time we saw it, however, the nintendo switch 2 was in direct, when we learned it would come out at the end of this year.
It is worth noting that the trailer did not say that the game would be launched with the Xbox Handheld, just that “it will be available at the time of launch,” according to Sarah Bond, the chairman of the Xbox. This means that the game can launch at any time between then and now, but whenever the release date of the Xbox Handhald is, we will know that Silksong is going to happen before.
Very at least, it seems that the team is doubling the Cherry 2025, so if it does not launch this year, it will be more amazing than ever.
