MSI raider A18 HX is a high-end, premium gaming laptop with a price point for the match. Currently featuring some complete best specifications on the offering on the market, there is no need to worry about the low frame rate or poor game quality when sports this Titan of a machine.
You get a great gaming performance on MSI raider A18 HX, although it is expected when it comes to a laptop at this price point. This device is not an option for those who are budget-conscious, although, but you do not get gaming performance such as any other, a stunning 4K display, and a laptop that is certified for the future for the coming years.
However, it comes with some large flaws. Of course, you will expect the 18 -inch gaming laptops grow up, but this device is really and really at another level in terms of shape and weight.
It is a behem of a device in which its allowances, such as an immersive screen size and lots of ports, but on the other hand, it is so large for a point that I will not necessarily consider it portable. It also has only a 2TB SSD, which, despite looking large, will easily be filled with the shape of the AAA title at this day and age.

The MSI raider is a top-line-line laptop in terms of A18 HX performance and certainly comes with a matching price point. Coming over $ 5,000 for the highest specification version of this laptop, this price point is not for the fainting of the heart. Considering the specifications of the laptop, the price point makes sense because the same options are around the same price point.
Asus Rog Strix Scar 18, which also has RTX 5090 graphics card and a large SSD, will set you back $ 4,499.99 / £ 5,099.

MSI raider A18 HX is a top-end gaming device where you can choose the option of either Nvidia RTX 5090 or NVIDIA RTX 5080 graphics card. While both these provide high-level graphics performance, if you really want the best of the best in terms of specifications, then NVIDIA RTX 5090 is definitely a clear option.
All other glasses between these two devices are the same, so no matter what option you raise, you will get a powerful processor as well as 64GB at your disposal with almost excessive amounts of RAM.

When the first time MSI raider A18 HX is unboxed, I think … Woah. Weighing in 3.6 kg, it is certainly not the lightest of the laptop, and it is added with a large -scale size measuring at 404 x 307.5 x 32.05 mm, this device is almost certainly large for most laptop backpacks.
Being an enthusiast Chawla collector of laptop bags, I tried it throughout the load of different bags, and only one thing that I could fit this device was a suitcase. If you are planning to use a moving laptop, it is definitely something to pay attention.
Size on one side, the laptop itself is very traditionally gamer-Y in terms of style. You get red accents with RGB and below bottom bezel on people along the edge of the device. Contributing to this beauty is the font of the keyboard, which is quite aggressive.
You get a stunning 18 -inch screen with this laptop with this laptop with 3840 x 2400 resolution, which is perfect for playing AAA title in 4K. However, for those who play competitive titles where frame games win – you also get a 120Hz refresh rate, making sure you have the best in the world with this performance.
The MSI raider A18 HX has 3 USB-A port, 2 USB-C port and a headphone jack. You also get an Ethernet port and HDMI port behind the device. Although this is more than enough ports for a standard set of gaming peripherals, if you are expecting to run a full streaming setup you will need an extender.

I had some initial issues when the first MSI raider A18 HX was booted. At first it was often cold and at one point in the middle of the benchmarking, it was completely frozen and I needed to catch the power button to close it. I realized that the main issue was when the battery fell below 10% – it became practically useless, even when I adjusted the power saving settings to ensure the best performance.
I resorted to using laptop plugs in most of the time because of the power draw, and it was not a gambling to stop falling down from 10% battery and stopping the entire system that I was ready to take – especially when playing online. However, when the laptop intended, it was absolutely spectacular, I got the top-tier performance from every title that I booted in Ultra.
Whether I was running a low-spring title or AAA game, I was able to get amazing quality graphics and high frames every time I sent laptop fans into class.
It is worth noting that – with a lot of gaming machines of this caliber – it turned very hot and very quickly, with fans as soon as I boot a game in 4K.
The speakers on the laptop are very good, while they certainly do not match the quality of the headset-level, they are completely fine for gaming.
However, if you are looking for a pinpoint-unique directional audio, you will not actually find the laptop speakers normally anyway, and the best PC speakers should be in the vest.
MSI raider A18 HX: Battery Life
Battery life was the biggest distance of this laptop. Of course, most gaming laptops have a very high strength draw because they have some very acute components, but the MSI raider A18 HX was actually incredibly low.
While playing the AAA game on 4K, I turned less than an hour before the laptop, before it shut down himself. Keeping in mind the issue of performance I experienced while reaching the level of low battery, it made the device even more useless for portability.
With the size of the laptop, you get an absolutely spacious 400W charging brick that also contributes to the lack of portability. However, the risk of having such a large charging brick is that your laptop will charge very quickly throughout the battery, with 10% to 100% to 100% back in about an hour.
It is clear that this laptop was designed to live in the plug at all times, whether it is due to the size of the device, the size of the charger or normally only battery life. During this time Is A gaming laptop, it is clearly intended to remain stable.

How I tested MSI raider A18 HX
I spent two weeks using MSI raider A18 HX as my everyday laptop for work and holiday. I was sure to use the device throughout the day for my specific working day, and then also used it for gaming in the evening. I took it with me to different places, where I needed to work to see how it would feel outside my workstation. Along with using it every day, I also benchmark the laptop using a series of various benchmarking software.
