Google Pixel 6A is also getting a deficiency in battery

Google Pixel 4A was recently in the news, but not for good reasons – an update clearly prepared the phone’s battery life completely completely, making it essentially unusable. Now, it may also happen what happens with Pixel 6A.

Google has confirmed that one of its pixel 6A smartphones will require a mandatory software update to address the possible risk of battery overheating. The update will introduce battery management features that deliberately reduce the maximum capacity of the battery and slow down the charging speed after the device undergoes 400 charge cycles. In theory, it means that the battery life of Pixel 6A will be greatly reduced, and it will charge more slowly, which was infamous with Pixel 4A, almost the same landscape. One of the pixel 6A phones will require a mandatory software update to reduce the risk of potential battery overheating. The update will enable battery management features that will reduce capacity and charging performance after reaching 400 charge cycles of the battery. We will contact the affected customers next month, with all the information they need to address the issue.

As much as it is technically a good step in paper (a phone with an ideal battery life is definitely preferred on a phone that explodes), Pixel 4A update was infamous for tones of other reasons, including increased battery drain even after battery replacement. If this is going to be a case with Pixel 6A users, they can try and get a new phone while they are on it. Once we have more information about what we can expect from the Pixel 6A users this whole thing, we will tell you, but it definitely doesn’t look great right now.
