Billingham Headley Pro 2020: Two minute review
Billingham started making bags in 1973. Since then the world has changed a lot, but its Sechelles has stood on the test of time. Known for their premium material and classic style, the billingham bags are the way you can use for years, then gift to the next generation.
So this is with Hadley Pro 2020. A gradual updated version of the established Hadley Pro, it is a camera bag made in the British tradition of leather and canvas craftsmanship. It is also one that is completely shaped for most photographers while moving. The rugged is a combination of field-taiyar functionality with good look, it is easy to see why Hadley Pro is one of the most seller.
Di, it demands a very important up-front investment. In our list of best camera bags, you will get options, which cost half the cost of Hadly Pro that can carry the same amount of gear (or more). But the payment you are making here is permanent quality. Read around online and you will get praise from users who have taken a handley for decades.
To unbox the bag, it is immediately clear why. From straps to reinforced handles, the Hadley Pro gives a sense of durability every inch of 2020. You can imagine the bag with a cotton canvas or synthetic fibrani shell. In any way, you get three-layer waterproofing. It is complemented by solid brass fittings and full-anaz leather edges. All this is a hard-viring, workhore quality.
So much so, that I initially found quick-free-relief strips of leather, not to release so quickly. I am confident that they will easily use over time. In fact, the entire bag seems to be one that will wear well. This is definitely one designed to be your gear friendly. At the front, you allow you to accommodate those bucks on how tightly the lid strips are closed. You also have the option to loop additional accessory pockets at each end.
Most users will not need to do so. At first glance what appears to have a minor messenger bag, actually goes out to have something of a tardis. With the pardeder joining, the capacity of the Headley Pro 2020 is surprisingly cave. Thanks to your flexible sides, Sachel can swallow lots of kits. You also get two vertical and two horizontal dividers, which can be arranged using the Velcro tab to help manage the space.
This can accommodate the APS-C system with a comfortable medium-sized lens trio. Equally, I had no problem fitting an enthusiastic DSLR body with a Nifty fifty attached, plus wide-angle and telephoto zoom. Those Velcro dividers not only give you flexibility for different lenses, but also make shelves that suspend the small accessories close to the top of the bag. Along with inserting -there is also a piece of padded lid, which can be twisted back from the way for easy access.
Long lenses are those where you will find the boundaries of the Hadley Pro. The bag is not shallow at all, but will need to be laid sideways to fit the combination of large body and glass. If you want all your kits stand vertically, then you have to divide the camera and barrel in the name of cleanly. This is the only compromise to speak really: Billingam is greater than you think.
Padded insert is complemented by the front pockets that are equally in the room. They are ideally kept for quick access to goods. The 2020 version of the Hadley Pro also benefits from a Weather Praufa Zip Pocket to store documents at the rear. What you don’t get is a dedicated laptop slot, although you can informally fit the 13 -inch MacBook Air between the padded insert and the back wall of the bag.
In short, the storage capacity of the Hadley Pro is more limited than the weight that you can tolerate in Sachel compared to space. The advantage of a messenger bag is that you can place your gear within the hand access, but a single-strap setup means the burden falls on a shoulder. You can also carry the Hadley Pro using your reinforced carry strap or slit it on a suitcase handle using a built -in retainer. But most users are going to rely on its removable shoulder sling.
And if you do, you would like to get out for alternative SP40 shoulder pads. This clip-on leather strip is made as beautifully as it is in four colors to match bags and ships. For the price of the pack, it must be really included as the standard. Without it, cotton boddhi can cut into your shoulder when the bag is heavy.
Nevertheless, for a dome, for a dollar. Before connecting the shoulder pad is already expensive camera bag which becomes slightly more expensive. But it is difficult to feel difficult. If you are serious about photography, then either as a hobby or profession, it is a camera bag that will see you. Count the cost per use over many years. You will avoid it and the equation soon becomes more appropriate.
Hadley Pro is definitely at home work. Its traditional beauty cannot be for every taste, but the classic approach is both professional and versatile. It can go from the forest to marriage and cannot see out of place. Also it is strong enough to survive, over times over.
If you really need a room for more gear, the headley is a large version with a proper laptop sleeve. But for my money, Billingham Headley Pro 2020 finds it perfect. It is a great daily satail for photographers. Practical and well -prepared for the core, it is difficult to find the mistake. If you like the look, it is a camera bag that is very worth investing.

How I tested Billingham Hadley Pro 2020
- Took around every day for two weeks
- Packed with a DSLR Plus three lenses
- Used in various settings and situations
If you are buying a camera bag that promises to last for years, you want it to perform in all types of shooting scenarios. So it’s okay how I tested Billingham Headley Pro 2020. My purpose was to get the first-hand impression of its durability and utility, working in many environment.
To test its carrying capacity, I loaded it with all gears, which I want to take to a standard shoot. This included a DSLR body, a 50 mm Prime, a 70–300 mm telephoto and 10–24 mm wide-angle zoom. I also packed its pockets with luggage including battery charger, lens hoods and a compact flashgan.
I then took the Hadley Pro out and walking on a large scale through the streets and fields. I tried to carry the bag with and without alternative shoulder pads, to see how much it is in the case of comfort. I also swung the lens in the body with the bag, so that it would be easy to guess how easy it would be to work on the fly to Billingham.
While the relatively brief period of my test means that I cannot give long -term response, a fortnight had enough time to create a detailed impression of Billingham Headley Pro 2020 build quality and a detailed impression. It helps that I am working with cameras-and taking them for more than a decade, so I know what to see in a good camera bag.
