Want to try Macos 26, but do not want to use buggy pre-relief operating system as your daily driver? You can set it in a virtual machine instead. This can make you feel a feel for the upcoming operating system without potentially disturbing your computer.
We have talked about how to establish Taho, but that guide changed your current operating system. This is fine if you have found a second machine specifically for testing, or if you are prepared with a large deal of Venocy-Nit and potential data loss for some reason. The good news is that UTM apple provides free virtual machine on Silicon Mac and it can run Macos 26 Taho right now – you just need to take a few minutes to set it.
This guide assumes that you have found a Mac with an apple silicone chip. If you are a Windows user or still shaking an Intel Mac, you have to find some other method to try Taho.
Download Macos 26 Taho
To start, download the operating system. If you do not have one, you have to create an Apple Developer Account – you can enroll HereAfter all, you will be asked to pay $ 99, but you do not really have to close the tab when you get that part.
Now head to head Developer.apple.com/downloadYou will see a list of operating systems, which you can download, including the McOS 26 beta. Click Mac computer with apple silicon Link to download IPSW file – This is 18.29 GB file, so make sure you have a lot of storage spaces.
You will need to download another file, called MACOS 26 Beta Support for DiviceDownload this DMG, open it, and run the package installer. Tahoe will not be installed in the UTM until you install it, so do not leave this step.
Set UTM
Download utmAn open source Mac application, and install it, assuming that you are not already. The Mac App Store version costs $ 10, which supports developers, or you can download the installer for free.
Launch UTM and click Plus icon to make a new virtual machine. Make sure you choose Make virtualNo SimulationFor the best performance. Then you will be asked how much memory and hard drive space you want to allocate to the machine – I suggest to stick to the lapse, just make sure you have found enough free storage space on your drive. Eventually you will be asked for an IPSW file.

It operates as you are using a new Mac. I was able to easily move my mouse inside and out the window, and the shape of the window was accommodated by the resolution of the virtual machine.
If you want to access the files on your MAC from inside the virtual machine, I recommend doing this with it. File sharing facility Only in Macos. I can connect any shared folder to my network with a virtual machine, including the files shared by Mac.
This is going to happen in the way I tested Taho facilities till now until it is officially released in the decline. If you want a way to feel a feel for the upcoming OS of Apple without using beta as your full -time system, then I recommend you to try this.
