Asus RP-Ax58 Review: Glasses
Wi-Fi imagination: AX3000
Number of antennas/removable: 2/no
Port: 1 GBPS LAN
Peak 802.11AX Performance: 490.2 Mbps (10 feet from Extender)
Category: 115 feet
size: 5.9 x 2.8 x 2.2 inch
Estimated annual power cost: $ 7.40
Although it is stuck in the Wi-Fi 6 ERA of home networking, ASUS uses RP-X 58 Networking imagination the most and comes close to the performance of Wi-Fi 7 Extender. However, it lacks the ability to use a 6GHz networking band, which has a gigabit ethernet port and does without a USB connector for data drives. Nevertheless, it is one of the most affordable methods to carry forward data signals in new areas of a house.
My Asus RP-AX58 review will help you decide if it is the best Wi-Fi Extender for your home or if you would be better to upgrade with one of the best or perhaps the best Aries Wi-Fi system.
Asus RP-AX58 Review: Pricing and Availability
Asus RP-AX58 Extender sells for $ 80 in a variety of shops, which makes it a little more expensive than LINSKYS RE7350 ($ 70), but Netgear NighThawk Eax17 ($ 130) or TP-Link is a deal as a deal.
It is designed to expand a wireless network above 2,200 sq ft.
Asus RP-Ax58 Review: Design
Wearing clothes in a matte white finish, the Asus RP-AX58 Extender measures 5.9 x 2.8 x 2.2 inch, making it one of the largest extenders in the market. Its two prong plug means that it will work in older houses that lack grounded outlets and covered with vents to keep its back cool. Extender can accommodate an adjacent plug and stand on its own when used with an extension cord.

The front of the RP-AX58 has a diagonal peak that moves from one corner to corner to corner. When it glows white, the extendor is working well, but the red does not give any active indication.
Like others, there is no/off switch, but its WPS (Wi-Fi protected setup) key quickly allows you to add it to a network. There is also a resessed reset button to resume the setup process. It acts as an additional node with AIMESH Networking of Asus, as a common Extender or as an access point or media bridge.

He said, RP-AX58 lacks USB port to add data drives. However, its gigabit is the second best compared to the 2.5 GBPS port of Re655Be per second wired Ethernet connection.
Asus RP-Ax58 Review: Performance
Using in a series of real world tests at my 3,500 square foot house Keysight ixchariot Networking benchmark 10 data-armed users were configured to imitrse, RP-X58 did an excellent job of filling in Wi-Fi dead zone. Netgear Nighthawk was set 40 feet away using the RS600 router and Extender, it was capable of writing more data than thin air than other Wi-Fi 6 contestants.

Extender and Acer Swift Edge 16 Test System next to each other, the throwput of the Extender hit 449.6 Mbps, Wi-Fi 7-Inumed RE 655Be’s 663.5 Mbps of about 50%. With 10 feet between the Extender and the Testing System, the throwkut rose to 490.2 Mbps, well away from 719.5 Mbps of the R-655 B, but beyond other Wi-Fi 6 Extenders, such as 203.7 Mbps of Re7350 or 383.1 mbps of EAX17.
At 40 feet, the Extender pushed the 201.1 Mbps data for the test system. It is at a par with the 197.9 Mbps of EAX17, but is well 376.7 Mbps behind the RE655Be orbit. Its 115 feet range was the longest which I have seen for an extender and is perfect for people with big houses.

During two weeks, I used RP-AX58 daily to move the email, transfer data and watch 4K videos. Its passive cooling kept the temperature of the extender below 98 degrees. Its 5.3 watts were between electric consumption packs. If it runs throughout the day and night, the RP-AX58 should add about $ 7.40 to your annual electricity bills if you pay the national average 16 cm per kWh.
Asus RP-AX58 Review: Facilities
Depending on the Wi-Fi 6 standard, RP-X 58 2.4 and 5.0GHz can work with data traveling on the band, but cannot tap into a 6GHz band with high performance. It uses 2×2 streaming with data traveling through two internal antennas; Nor are objectives worthy.

It taps up to all 802.11Ax protocols, to 1024 quadcher dimensions modulation (QAM), but cannot use 320MHz data channels from beamforming and mu-MIMO. More than 2.4- and more than the 5.0-GHz band, it can transfer 574 Mbps and 2.402 GBPS to a rated 3 GBPS theoretical peak output.
Asus RP-Ax58 Review: Setup and Software
Using connected browser to tap the internal interface of the ASUS device or the company’s Extender App, offers the option to use WPS Quick Connect Protocol to link Extender with a router that is available for iOS and Android. I chose the latter and rolled out the Wi-Fi ball by tapping on the “set up Extender” after being connected.

Next, I chose Extender. Be careful, there is a possibility of two identical listings; I chose one that included “(connected)”.

While the interface said that I need to wait a few seconds, it took about two minutes to connect to the Extender and get the installation. I needed to name the room in which he lived and will increase the lan. I added the passcode of the network.

To simplify roaming, I used the same name and passcode. Then, I finished by adding an administrative password. After a firmware upgrade, it is attached to the first attempt. Start to finish, it took 6 minutes and 20 seconds.

The main screen of the app shows the network topology, the IP address of the Extender and its names. The “+” symbol is to add another extendor. There is something that is rare for a networking app: an easy FAQ section above you should have trouble.

The three line hamburger link to the upper left is for everything else with tips to start.

The network tools said that the network tools include a good network analyst that shows the Wi-Fi signal page with all local Wi-Fi networks and signal strength graphs. Ping and trace root are diagnostics, but it is missing the basics like the ability to adjust the settings of the Extender or to close the LED.

Asus RP-Ax58 Review: Warranty and Support
Asus coincides with a two-year warranty from TP-Link and unlimited support for RP-X58 Extender. Others, such as linksys, cover their extenders for one year and the network offers only 90 days support until you pay extra.

In addition to the FAQ aid on the app, the RP-AX58 support pages contain a lot, including the location to get new firmware, help with the setup and a deep list of FAQ. Some items are normal for the company’s Extender and no manual is available, only a Quickstart sheet.
Asus RP-Ax58 Review: Decision
It may not be the fastest extender on the planet, but ASUS performs the most from the Wi-Fi 6 standard with its RP-AX58. This recalls the ability to tap in the 6GHz data band and 4K QAM of Wi-Fi 7, but RP-AX58 is one of the fastest ways to expand a wireless network, especially close and as an additional node will fit the correct fit into the Asus AIMESH network.
Although it lacks access to the top of the 6GHz band, obtaining RP-AX58 can be best $ 80 if you can spend on a network if you do not want to upgrade to Aries Wi-Fi system.
