The Internet Archive made it easy to discover the ’90s GIFs’. Gifiology Falain shirts and soup include millions of animations from the decade of Nazis. The GIF was drawn from the old geosities webpages, which (mostly) in 2009 a little bit of dust.
It is very easy to find a new version of Gifcities. Now you can find severity based on the content of animation. In other words, it is more likely to bring the subject or scene you are looking at by describing it. In the old version of gifcities, you can only search by file name. (If you are feeling masochistic, you can still access that version under the “Special Search” tab.)
Update gifcities also now uses pageization. This is a good thing, because the infinite scrolling of the older version can be made for slow browsing. You can also make and share “gifgrams”. As the name suggests, these are custom e-gritting made from those ancient GIFs.
Internet Archive launched Gifcities in 2016 to celebrate its 20th anniversary. If you are too small to learn, geosities were initial internet web-hosting service. A pioneer for social media, it was full of shameful fan pages, personal photo albums and “under construction” gifs. (You will find a lot in this search engine later.) Yahoo drew a plug at most terrain in 2009. (Disclosure: It is the original company of Engaget.) However, the Japanese version survived until another decade.
If you are of a certain age, you will enjoy Browse(Or, know what was passed for internet humor before your birth!) Just note that many results are NSFW. I made the mistake of searching for “Mr. Tea”, and now I will leave you to immerse your eyes with bleach.
