Facebook Announced On Tuesday that all videos on its platform will soon be shared as reels, whether their length or orientation is shared. So far, users are capable of sharing both video posts and reel. The company is also turning the “video” tab on its platform on the “Reels” tab. Facebook says that this update will not recommend you to you.

In the coming months, users will not have to select between video or reel uploading, as it will be automatically shared as a reel. In addition, the reels on Facebook will not be bound by length or format restrictions. (Currently, reel on Facebook can be only 90 seconds long.)

The idea behind the changes is to streamline the video-sharing format on the social network. This will not be the first time that a meta -owned platform has done so, as Instagram started changing the new video post automatically in 2022 under 15 minutes.

“First, you will upload a video to feed or post a reel using various creative flows and equipment for each format,” Facebook said in a blog. Post“Now, we are bringing these experiences together with a simplified publication flow that gives you access to even more creative equipment. We will also control you on the settings of your audience that sees your reels.”

Changes are likely to bother some users, as it may withstand some challenges.

For example, it can be annoying to post a horizontal video if it is uploaded to the format of a vertical reel. In addition, users do not want to watch long videos mixed with shorter people.

As part of the change, users’ default settings will now be the same for feed and reels. When users start posting the reels after change, they will be motivated to confirm their audience’s settings to determine who can see their reels: everyone, their friends, or a select group of people.

After the update, Facebook says it will remain a place for all types of video content, whether it is short, tall, or live.

The company says that it will make gradually changes globally in the coming months.
