Deezer Announced On Friday that it will begin to labeled albums that include AI-related tracks as part of their efforts to deal with streaming fraud.
The company reports that about 18% of music was uploaded each day-20,000 track-now is completely AI-generated. Although most of these tracks are not viral, the desirers say that about 70% of their streams are fake and they are designed to earn royalty fraudulently.
To compete this, the AI-actual tracks on DAser are now clearly tagged. These tracks will also not appear in editorial playlists or algorithm-based recommendations, and fraud sections are being filtered with royalty payment.
The company says that the new label will be a game changer that will help the listeners determine the difference between man-made music and AI content.

Deezer notes that for now, AI-Only songs make just 0.5% of all streams on their platforms, but this trend is growing rapidly.
“We have detected a significant optic in the delivery of only AI-based music in the last few months and we do not see any signal to slow down. It is an industry-wide issue, and we are committed to enhance transparency by helping music fans to identify that AI music is involved in which albums. Press release.
“AI is not naturally good or bad, but we believe that a responsible and transparent approach is important to create confidence with our users and music industry,” he continued. “We are also evident in our commitment to protect the rights of artists and lyricists at a time, where the copyright law is being questioned in favor of the AI model training.”
Deezer applied for two patents in December 2024 for its AI detection technology, which focuses on two different ways of detecting “unique signature” that is used to explain the difference between synthetic materials and authentic materials.
The step comes as the Universal Music Group, Warner Music Group and Sony Music Entertainment, allegedly in talks to give a license to AI Startups Udio and Sano. Startups are being sued by record companies for copyright violations, and any deal will help in settling the cases between them, Bloomberg Informed earlier this month.
