Try to lay a layer of features on top of the best parents’ control apps, but Bomerang It takes a slightly different view by incorporating its own safe browser called spin.
In addition, this app promises more positive attitude for tracking, message monitoring and app control, although there are huge differences between your experience on Android compared to iOS.
Boomerang Review: Plans and Pricing
Boomerang leaves for a good start with attractive pricing. There is a 14-day free test and, if you want to invest, the cost of the family pack is $ 40 per year and includes licenses for ten equipment. If you want a single license, $ 20 per year is spent per device per year.
That family pack is the best option, and if you want to buy the easiest way to start, then you have to shop in-app through Google Play or App Store. But keep in mind that you can kill the range of ten-devices quickly if you are a large family with a lot of equipment.
Boomerang Review: Facilities
We will certainly recommend Google Play, however, because Boomerang is far more powerful on Android than iOS.
For example, on Android, you can control your children’s screen deadline and schedule, always allow them to use favorite apps, and inform your children how much time you have left. Apple’s OS remembers all those features-on one iPhone you can only give your children a time-out from Boomerang.
The situation remains one -sided. On Android you can automatically block unfiltered web browsers, set daily timer for individual apps, use apps and schedule apps – and none of these are available on Apple’s equipment.
Call and text messaging safety is far strong on Android, also: You can see the call log on the platform of Google, ban calls and block numbers, can see the text message logs and set the filter for specific words. You will be informed when improper words are used or when children are texting with unauthorized contacts.
On Android you will be informed if your child removes boomerang protection, blocks access to the device settings, tries to uninstall the app or change the date and time – and none of it is available on iOS.
On both platforms you will find your child’s web history to see and block some websites, but Android’s reporting is very strong for detailed email summary, daily reports, installed apps list and copy-app use reporting. Android is also the only platform where you can control installed apps and use the “Find My device” -style feature on your children’s phone.
This is not all bad for iOS users. Spin safe browser works on both platforms, and you can also block specific websites on both.
The location tracking works in both platforms, you can access the location history and automatic location reporting, and can also install impressive Geofond Ready on both parents. And no matter what platform you use, you will get access to a family message group, one-on-one chatting and activity reporting.
Dive into Android, then, and far more available. You get regular scheduling, daily app time limits, “encouraged apps” at bedtime that are free from rules, and children get the option to give time to prevent their devices to prevent the use of their devices.
Boomerang’s text message monitoring is wider log and wider with the option to collect all text materials, and you can control who your child says – and who can call them. You can combine family equipment with your email address, so you do not need to create new email accounts for your children, and you can block new app installs or allow for parents’ approval.
Somewhere else, Boomrang YouTube monitors history and discovers on Android, and if you are using the Samsung device then it is one of the only parental control apps to use Samsung Knox Safety.
Spin browser affects, also: search in browsers such as bing, google and yahoo is filtered automatically and the browser has strict built-in filtering. It does not have a private browsing mode, those material filters can be customized, and its filter looks for 20 different categories of possible inappropriate materials.
The less influential Bomerang has social media functionality. For example, it does not basically do social media apps or emails similar to bark. App will pick up some things by tracking messaging and typing, and you can add social media sites to its web filter – but it is not good as bark or custodio here.
At least, because you have controlled which apps installed, you can prevent your children from installing social media tools for the first time.
Boomerang Review: Interface and In-Use
It is not uncommon for the installation and setup of parents’ control apps, and it is definitely a case with boomerang.
To get calls and SMS monitoring, you have to install the Android app on your children’s equipment through Boomrang website instead of Google Play Store. You may also have to engage in settings on the device to allow for non-store installation.
Thankfully, the original app can only be downloaded from Google Play or App Store, and it is very easy. And when everything is set, the interface is a mixed bag: the phone app is relatively slow, but the web dashboard is archaic and hard to use most of the web interfaces offered by most rivals.
Boomerang Review: Support
Boomrang’s support is underdeveloped. Users can submit a support ticket, but the website has not received any indication of how much time it will take to get the response.
Somewhere else, a knowledge base and FAQ section is online, and there is a platform that was not particularly active at the time of writing. There is a podcast and a blog, but it is for support.
Boomrang Review: Competition
We have already mentioned bark and custodio, and both rival apps do better with email and social media monitoring – but, negatively, both are slightly more expensive than boomerang.
Bomerang is stronger than competition when it comes in both regions due to geoofinging and screen time management for its granular controls.
With a stronger offering on that platform, Qustodio is better for iOS, and ourpact is also a better option for Apple’s platform.
Boomerang Review: Final decision
Boomerang has its own negative, especially, when it comes to iOS support and monitoring of email and social media apps, but it is much stronger with geoofing, filtering, scheduling and web browsers – thanks to the especially owned spin app.
This means that Bumerang is ideal for Android-based families with children who do not currently use email or social media. The price is also cheap.
