- A new, official Gopro Max 2 teaser shows that it is finally ready for launch
- 360-Digry Action Cam has been working for years
- It will compete with recently leaked DJI Osmo 360 and Insta 360 X5
Gopro Max 2 has been in development for so long that it is almost mythological status, but the 360 camera is finally ready to launch officially – as some new teaser images have just confirmed.
Gopro shared two Max 2 images, including all its social media platforms. X (East Twitter)They were with a word tagline “dropping”, which suggests that we can finally watch the camera soon.
Images do not tell us a large amount about the true successor of the original Gopro Max, which launched back in 2019. Like the Gopro Hero 13 Black, the camera body has a find heat sink on the front that helps it to avoid overheating. The lens of Max 2 also appears to be more centralized than its predecessor.
The long-awaited camera of Gopro will fall rapidly to a crowded place. The battle for the title of Best 360 camera has recently become heated, with the arrival of the Insta 360 X5, recently while doing the DJI Osmo 360, and Akaso today revealed the cheapest 360 camera, the cheapest, Akaso 360.
But despite the growing competition, Gopro action cameras have the most recognizable name – so we are eager to see what the upcoming Max 2 brings.
Analysis: Competition can only be good for 360 camera fans

The backstory of Gopro Max 2 is not a promising. Gopro originally told us that its Insta360 rival was “in works” in September 2023 about two years ago. Then in May 2024 it was slate for a launch by the end of that year, only then by 2025.
So why long delay? Gopro hasn’t gone into nuances yet, but it is no secret that the company is recently struggling. Earlier this year, CEO Nick Woodman Wisdom forgives his salaryTo help the company, but Gopro’s stock and revenue have tank in the last one year.
Nevertheless, it is good to watch Max 2 to Skydives eventually through some dark clouds. Although it will probably struggle to receive the latest flagship of Insta 360 (Chinese company has launched four repetitions of its major 360-degree camera since the original Max), Max 2 hopes that it will bring some new features such as regulated lenses and better software to create a good fight.
The good news for Gopro is that the benefits of 360 cameras can still not actually be repeated by a smartphone. Shooting everything around you and then pointing the camera wherever you want, still has a very useful editing trick. And 360 camera space will benefit from being a rejuvenated gopro in the mix-its Chinese rivals have learned how to develop the action camera in the world.
