Update (,
Romero Games has issued a statement on the studio status after canceling its undeclared FPS.
And, fortunately, here is good news – the studio has not really closed despite a report of Irish publication. The journal Claiming that more than 100 employees would be closed.
“Romero games are not closed, and we are doing everything in our power to ensure,” says the developer. Blue sky“Any suggestion is otherwise factually incorrect. In fact, we were in the studio today to discuss the next stages with the team.”
Some team members have lost their jobs, as we reported last week, but it seems that the doors are still open in Romero Games. Currently, the team is looking at what to do next and, as a result of losing money for their FPS, “We will now have to assure the entire staffing of our studio.”
“We have been contacted by many publishers who are willing to help us play the game in the finish line, and we are currently evaluating those opportunities.”
The fingers for the team crossed.
Basic Story: This video has been another hard week for the game industry and the decline from Microsoft’s trimming was a funding cut in Romero Games, John and Branda Romero’s studio.
Now, after some claims, the independent studio had completely closed its doors, the Irish publication journal has clearly found the official confirmation about this in a statement by Branda Romero (Thanks, push square,
It has been mentioned how the decision was made at “high levels” within Microsoft and well over the studio’s “visibility and control”.
“This is exactly not a reflection of our team’s work, performance or project quality. We hit every milestone every time, every time we are breaking hearts that it has come on it.”
Romero Games allegedly appointed 42 studio members “directly”, with “more than 100” people a broad network for its latest project.
A “anonymous” staff member of the Gaulway-based studio reported that this is a “big shock” as the team had only held meetings with the publisher of “Before this happening”. There was clearly no warning, and it has been claimed that “there is no remaining money to continue operations”.
John Romeroo is one of the co-producers of Doom, and the studio he co-established with his wife went to release several titles including the RPG Empire for SIN in 2020. The same developer also released Sigil and Sigil 2 for Doom + Doom II.
