Casleer, in his former role as a security head in a healthcare organization, when he implemented a multiproor authentication, had to shut down such a business. He says that his executive colleagues knew the value of the MFA, but there was also a concern about the extra time that it would reach applications.
“We admitted that we had to be smart about how and when we need people to use that second factor,” Kesler tells. “We decided that it could not happen every time after reaching a computer, because we often had doctors and nurses between equipment and patients throughout the day and we could not ask them to read again every five minutes. It would have a significant impact on the workflows where minutes and seconds matters.”
Casler says, so security and business decided to require an MFA for the first access of the day together for the first access of the day, “so they were not constantly serpent through the day to do that second factor,” Caseller says.
