“Excessive” is not a qualifier that I will use to reduce Lenovo Chromebook Plus 14. This is only a statement of the fact. It is a beautiful tool with the previous major contenders, $ 700 Samsung Galaxy Chromebook Plus with good audio and more power. But is the Crown taking the King of Chromos as enough to justify the price of $ 650? Even with some exclusive software features, using it is not a different experience from using it under any other $ 400 or Chromebook Plus model. This is a better experience than all those others in the market.

Lenovo Chromebook Plus 14 is a luxurious, luxurious looking and fantastic feeling chromebook. But no problem, it’s still just a chromebook

    Professionals

    • Excellent screen with good contrast

    • Strong audio

    • Top level battery life

    Shortcoming

    • Price for chromebooks

    • Some AI features use NPU

    • Bends around the center of the keyboard

Assembled around the fire. I am going to tell you a story. I built a desktop PC in high school, but the computer that I did everywhere from college was a chrombook. Pumping articles for my degree in my days on the Journalism School Assembly line, I found that I did not need more than that simple 13 -inch HP Chrombook I bought under $ 300. I was a poor college baby, and if the election was financing my way to South Korea for a three -week reporting journey between me or buying a working PC, I opted for an airplane ticket. There, I broke the keyboard of my chrombook, and instead of buying a new device, I opted for a cheap keyboard with a combination of Korean and English characters. I will use that keyboard-Chrombook combo for the rest of my college career.

Cheap is not always bad, but is a cheap requirement dancing partner. For me, Chromebooks were always a means for an end. If a Mac is a comfortable, bubbling warm tub, and a PC is once a tambling surf on the ocean, the chrombook is a lazy river, which flows into a dull and expected pattern. With its priced for its price, Lenovo Chromebook Plus 14 feels like a friend, shown at my door after a long absence, except that they are working on themselves and are in the best physical and emotional shapes of their lives. They are also to go to an expensive restaurant and order a frito casserole.

More than any PC, Chromebook becomes a partner. Lenovo’s device spent his days next to my bed, when I only wanted to see YouTube or make some quick shopping, and thanked everyone for its silent, fan -free design. The General 10 Chromebook comes in two tastes: one for $ 750 with touchscreen and the other for $ 650 without it. While Lenovo has sent me a more expensive version for reviews, this is not 2 -in -1, so you do not need to feel that you are missing if you go for cheap options. It is a device that is packing 2K (1,920 x 1,200) OLED panel, and if it was not enough, it has four 2W speakers and one of the sole chrombooks to support Dolby Atomos Sound. The sound can be loud, and while the audio will feel more hollow than a good pair of headphones, it has a stunning amount of bass that will conduct for any Netflix and Chil session.

If one thing is that Lenovo Chromebook Plus 14 is missing, it is a panel that can exceed the 60Hz refresh rate. This means that even though you are paying for cloud gaming through a version of Geforce that now supports 120 frames per second, you will not really experience those top frame rates. The device is packing a chromebook-specific MediaTek Companio Ultra 910 Chip and 16 GB RAM. It supports up to two 4K displays (one on 30Hz and one on 60Hz), which is already stunning. This chip is to push AI with NPU -a nerve processing unit that can handle some light AI load. The problem with this is that very few apps are available which can also use NPU. The large or perhaps only fungal using this NPU is called smart grouping. It is about to understand its full dirt of tabs and windows and then sort them based on reference.

Because the next unavoidable question is: what else do you do on Chromebook? It is a device designed for chrome browsing, and it means all the cloud-based web apps that you can imagine. Additional power from MediaTek chip does not provide you with the option to use apps that you could not do before. Google’s Chromeos ecosystem has not changed over years. While you will enjoy access to Adobe Express, it is not a machine manufactured for on-device creator apps. These are machines made for typing, so the wattpad would be great if it was not clearly designed for mobile. This is a device that is packing only 256GB UFS storage, so it doesn’t matter, it is not something that you want to fill with unnecessary data anyway.

Gemini of Google, which gradually infects chromeos over time, is still working on the cloud. The people behind Chromos indicated Gizmodo that they were planning to highlight a small Gemini Nano model on the near future, but still I am not sure how you use it. If you are already not using Gemini to modify your email and cover webpages for you (I hope you are not using it to break my article in bullet points), a device-specific AI will not change too much. Google also promoted how you can use a tool such as magic eraser to get out unwanted elements from your photos or add them. It may take several minutes to expand or remove the background of the photo with an on-device tool, and the results are not what you want to send to a family’s Christmas card.

After downloading some indigenous apps to Chromebook, Google Play Store sometimes looks like a westing tail left from the manufacturers of Android. Streaming and cloud services are still the name of the game. Lenovo Chromebook Plus 14 has the advantage of Wi-Fi 7 connectivity.

As good for passive materials, typing experience seems even more luxurious. Bachalit keyboard has a stunning clicks that took my fingers through a dance in its shallow keys. The touchpad is also a glass-soft with a heavy click that can close some users, but there is the kind of force reaction I am looking under control. As good as it feels, the build quality is perfect, including its strong aluminum shell. Chromebook Plus 14 gives too much when pressed down between the keyboard. It is strong on both sides of the rest of the palm, and you will only notice it if you kill each key with more than your normal Oomph.

Perhaps the best thing about Lenovo Chromebook Plus 14 is its battery life. When I first heard a 17-hour battery life in streaming tests, I assumed that it would be very bad in behavior. In fact, the device manages hanging for more than all day’s work. I could take it from 100% to about 20% in the morning before the end of the day at high brightness and still have enough juice to watch half a dozen Youtube videos before bed. I can easily take out more than 12 hours with the device, which is almost comparable to better battery standards of laptop with Intel Core Ultra Series 2 or Qualcomm Snapdragon chips, but for a fraction of the price.

Lenovo Chromebook Plus 14 is the most spectacular way of riding soft chromos streams. Its bright OLED display matches its clake keyboard and smooth trackpad. But it is still just a chrombook. Streaming is equally accessible with most large tablets. Lenovo itself sells a slate made for especially quality audio, but with a worse performance compared to the company’s chromebook. If you want the best Chromebook, it is. Just know that a chromebook is still just a chromebook, until Google does nothing as foolish Mix it with Android,
