I used to watch YouTube everywhere on my phone, TV, laptop and desktop. It all sounds the same, right?
Wrong. This is the time to dig your smartphone and TV and watch youtube on the platform for which it was designed: your desktop.

TV is not a multitask, and the phone does not do it well
If you want to see YouTube while doing something else on the same device – as I do often – you can’t do it on your TV. And while multitasking is possible on mobile devices, it is not always convenient. Yes, I can use a split-screen or picture-in-picture mode, but the video ends in a small corner of my screen, making it difficult to see the details.
On your desktop or laptop, you can open YouTube in a tab or window while working in another. I prefer to use a picture-in-picture mode especially so that I can take a glimpse of what is going on in the video while doing something else.

Affects video controls on TV and phone
Another major reason I have stepped away from watching YouTube on my TV or smartphone, which is a consistent fight with video control. On the phone, you have to pull your finger with a small progression bar. Often, your thumb blocks the video.
Another trick video is to double-tap on the left or right of the player or to the left or right of the fast-forward, but it is not even accurate. How many times I have accidentally counted, have mistakenly tapped the next or back button instead of forwarding or rewinding. YouTube TV app is not better, as it can be challenging to use remote for further or rewinds, and you often find yourself much more loving than in mind.
It is difficult if you are trying to play the same quotation again, and especially annoying for long videos, such as podcasts or lectures, where accuracy is most important. On the desktop or laptop, the use of the mouse or keyboard provides accurate control.

TV and phone serve more infiltration advertisements
I have used YouTube over the years, and what has become clear recently is that, without paying for premium or premium light, advertisements have become unbearable, especially on mobile and TV. Initially, I felt that it was just me, but I have since seen dozens of posts of users, who complain about YouTube advertising experience on YouTube-related subredit, R/YouTube,
If you watch YouTube on TV, then we expect to watch some non-skipable advertisements running from 30 to 60 seconds, according to one Google advertising support pageOn mobile, you face standard non-circulatory in-stream advertisements that last for 15 seconds or less.
However, in some cases, these advertisements now cover the entire screen. And as you scroll via your feed on YouTube’s mobile app, advertisements appear after about three or four cards. In addition, after seeing an advertisement, there is a high probability of seeing another stable advertisement just below the comment section bar.

I like to see YouTube, but it’s getting spoiled in these 8 ways
YouTube is not just what it used to be, despite how many hours I still spend to see it.
So, at any moment you watch a video, there is a visual advertisement that covers at least one third of your screen. Unlike previous pain points, you can solve this problem by receiving premiums, but it requires $ 14 monthly membership. Sure, you can get YouTube premium for less, but this cannot happen all the time. Although I still faced the same issue on my laptop, the browser extension helped me solve it without the need to pay for YouTube premium.

You can’t customize the experience
One of the biggest reasons I have stopped watching YouTube on my TV or smartphone, how much I have control. On my smartphone and TV, I cannot do anything to customize the platform. Apps in reality this means that you use to see YouTube, and in addition to the basic options provided by the platform, there is nothing that you can do to further improve the experience.
YouTube’s TV and mobile apps feel like a lock box, forcing you to accept everything you feel. On your laptop, however, it is not so. Thanks to the vibrant ecosystem of youtube-enhancing extensions, you can install different options to suit the experience as per your choice.

I can’t use YouTube without these 6 extensions
These YouTube browser extensions make your viewing experience so much better.
For example, there are extensions for blocking advertisements, showing dislikes, tying layouts or hiding distraction recommendations and shorts. Others immediately help you to know if youtube video is worth your time before wasting your precious time. If it is a common pain point for many YouTube users, there is possibly an extension that addresses the problem.
After years of watching YouTube on your TV and smartphone, I have realized that the shortcomings are not just worth it. Advertisements of infiltration, lack of adaptation, clumsy control, and poor or non-existing multitasking abilities disappointed the experience. So I have switched to look exclusively in the browser on my laptop or desktop computer, as I can easily tailor experience and multitasks.
