If you are running MacoS Big Sur on your Mac, we have got some bad news: soon, only two best web browser will continue to support this operating system. Once this happens, you have to either install Macos Sequoia or change the browser of your choice.
Development comes as google has announced That Chrome version 138 will be the last one providing updates for McOS Big Sur. After that, Google Chrome Macos will continue working in Big Sur, but you will see a major warning message that is asking you to upgrade. It will still not receive updates, which will potentially make it sensitive to severe safety violations.
Moving forward, the Macos Montere Chrome update will be minimal required. It will be accompanied by Chrome version 139, which is expected to come on August 5, 2025.
This will release the Mosilla Firefox and Microsoft Edge as the only popular browser are still supporting McOS Big Sur. It is not telling how long this support will last, either, so upgrading your Mac is a sensible idea to keep yourself safe.
