    Summary

    • Some Samsung Galaxy devices had a safety defect that allowed access to safe folder material.

    • Google-designed components in Android lacked proper security for the old “work” profiles.

    • With a UI 8, Samsung re -determined the safe folder as a “private” profile for better security.

You will accept apps and photos correctly in “safe folder” Safe-No your Galaxy phone was safe. Well, a timid little defect allows anyone to your device with physical access to peep on your hidden treasure. Samsung is finally addressing it with a UI 8 update.

When Samsung first launched a safe folder in 2017, Android was not actually formed for such a feature. Therefore, it was to use the current “work profile” framework. While it acted originally, it created a huge problem. Some core system components will incorrectly explain the safe folder as a regular task profile. These components were not designed to treat a task profile with extreme privacy and security that was to offer a safe folder. This meant that it was very easy to reach the contents of the safe folder from some apps, as shown in the video below.

Core is important in Android components, such as photo picker and permission controller. They are controlled by Google, not Samsung. And Google designed them to recognize and hide the material for the new “private location” facility of Android 15. However, they were not designed to expand the same level of security for those old “work” profiles. This meant that they could easily exploit your allegedly hidden photos and even lie the apps installed in your safe folder.

How to make Samsung’s safe folder even more secure

Safe folder app on Samsung phone is a great tool to protect your personal photos, files and app data. However, there are ways in which you can make it even more secure, no one was to see the possibility of stumbling on the fact that they were not to see.

Fortunately, with a UI 8, Samsung has made a significant change. This “private” profile has been rearfined to a safe folder. It appears that the slight change makes all differences because it ensures that Google’s photo picker and permission controller now identify the safe folder as a protected place properly, keep your files and app information really private.

However, it only works when you hide a completely safe folder, not closing it. Hiding the folder actually leads to more than removing the icon from your app drawer. This also encrys everything, prevents the apps from running and prevents any information from giving them away. To do this, go to Settings> Biometrics and Safety> Safe Folder. Togal “show icon on apps screen” off.

This fix was included in the new Galaxy Z Fold 7, Galaxy Z Flip 7, and Galaxy Z Flip 7 File last week. This is expected to roll out for the Galaxy S25 series and other older models in the coming weeks.
