Imagine having a PC that fits in your hand and performs enough to get you through the day (with spare with power). Such computers exist, but not all of them are made equal.
I have tested these small form-factor PCs a lot, and many of them can be cute, but they have any kind of power to do much. Others, such as Picolo N150 -The eight-inch device that I have recently reviewed-are useful in specific contexts, but not for all. Because of this, at any time I get one for review, I go into a review process with a grain of salt.

Imagine my wonder when I opened the shape of the palm Minics Neo Z 97 And felt that my assumptions could be very well wrong.
Minics There is a company you may never have heard, but they make a lot of small form-factor hardware, such as PC, car touchscreen, portable monitor, charger and wireless display. Minics products are often affected and offered at affordable prices. For example, its new Z97 mini pc Sells only for $ 226 on Amazon.
Is it worth the price? Let’s know.
My experience
First, Neo Z97 shown with Windows 11, and I decided to install Linux on it. Since Windows 11 is a resource hog, I thought it would be best to see how well the hardware handled the first OS. Certainly, I can install a Linux distribution on the PC, knowing that it would perform better than many windows, but this time I wanted to experience default.
Also: This makes Linux Distro Opencuse accessible to everyone – even newbies should take a look.
With Windows 11, the initial setup was going to take time and was inferior to any Linux distribution that I have ever used. But this is not a debate about Linux vs. Windows (because you know where I stand on it); It is all about PC.
You will also find 2 RJ45 Ethernet Jacks on Z97.

Once the setup was completed, I run the Tiny PC through my normal daily routine, including installing a libraffice, launching Olama/Musty, web browsing and watching videos on YouTube.
As far as everyday tasks are concerned, the new Z97 performed me better than expected with such a small machine. Libreoffice was quickly opened, editing images with GIMP was painless, websites were loaded as fast as they were loaded on my main desktop PC, and music and music without music and music without youtube videos and music.
The most resource-intensive task was Olama/MSty (because the local AI system could increase resources), and it pushed the Z97 to its extent. To be fair, olma/msty pushes my system 76 theelio (a full animal of a computer), so I was not surprised at all that this mini PC struggles slightly with local AI. If the machine contains a dedicated GPU, it may not be the case, but, as, it is not designed at all for localized AI use.

One thing that surprised me was how calm the Z97 is. I did not hear the fan kick at one time (even during the early upgradation of Windows 11). It is completely silent. I had to catch my ear to the device to finally listen to the fan.
ZDNET purchase advice
I think the inclination for such small PCs bends with a very few rooms towards the kiosk or desk, but if you thought you would be wrong Minics Neo Z 97 Such deployment must be limited. This small machine is powerful enough for everyday use. And if you need a triple monitor setup, the Z97 covered you, meaning that this small animal can do some serious work.
Also: the easiest, fastest Linux to install the distribution – and I have tried them all.
Do not be foolish with its size; The Z97 can serve as your desktop computer with ease and grace. It may not be the most powerful machine that I have ever used (it will be my system 76 thelio), but it is far from the low end, and at $ 226 on Amazon, it’s a theft.
