The re-recurred Burcha Block Desktop is completely gorgeous. I did not expect this good to see this good in this person, but now when I see it, it looks much better than what I thought. The formation of the physical desk is only half the fight. I spent several hours to collect this setup once. Hexal was quickly assembled, but then I chose to go out for this desk, while it is still functional for most people of my team. I added dual monitor, a lamp, dock, a soundbar, iconic cup holder, cable management, a humble panel and more.
First, I added monitor weapons and deployed them as I wanted. Thankfully, these weapons have enough range that I can still maintain a vertical and a horizontal look that I wanted, mainly since this setup has two different types of monitors. This setup is in the same orientation as I am turning into this office.
An important joint I wanted to make in this setup was the hexal studio. I received it around the same time as the uplift desk, so I knew that it would be a great match. What is unique about hexal is that it includes lights, electricity, data, cable management and even a wireless charger into a unit. Therefore, I was able to run a power line until the power strip installed under the desk below the desk below the hexal studio, and then I drove the power from the desk to that strip and lamp. That’s it. Everything else I was able to run in outlets manufactured in hexal, and then managed cables in the trough without any issue. The studio is perfectly fit under the monitor, providing the Ivanki Fushydock Max 1 to the top for easy access to me.
Going back to the desk, I was easily able to set monitor weapons where I wanted them, without avoiding any crossbar or frame, or select at least growing space, as all areas were suitable for growing. The 1.5-inch-ride butcher block 1.5-inch-muddy block made the growing super easy, and it also made it easier to create everything else. I chose the same place where I wanted a control room, my ridiculous (but now I secretly love it) cup holders, lamps, desk mats and laptop stands.
My team and I usually pop inside and out, so we pulled the laptop stand forward for easy access, and we put it on the right panel so that when we come, we can press a button on our way to do the laptop or as we are holding it to leave it. I could keep the controller to the left, but I chose right because I did not want to hit it with my knee, when he was walking out and out of his chair.
Finally, Vinay’s panel is not just to see places where you do not want them, it is also very good to cover cables and give things more professional. I installed a humble panel behind the back of the desk, but due to the current arrangement of the desk and the monitor arm location, I chose to keep one side to one for now. However, if I ever draw this desk in the middle of the space, as I expect in the future, I will immediately leave that humble panel behind.
