There was a time when I would be sucking bits to click on a new entry-level graphics card in my PCIE Home. Think back of GTX 1050 TI or Radeon RX 570 – these were not just great GPUs because they were accessible, but because you could practically feel the scraping that bounted their circuitry. Like barking small Chihuahua, thrown down against a packet of mastiff. You can see that they are not a match for big boys. But you love them to not care them.
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5050 is not such a card. It is the cheapest in the RTX 50 series, lowering RTX 5060 by £ 40 / $ 50, and it comes with a full set of DLSS 4 tools including multi -frame generation (MFG) support. Its performance is, sad, is more slow than scrapy, and it is not really cheap. Prices start around £ 220 / $ 250 and I have tested this overclocked Zotac model which is £ 248 / $ 270, so it is still going to be the most component in any budget PC build build.
This is not completely useless-for people with specific tastes in the rational, aspling-skeptical multiplayer games, the RTX 5050 will trick at 1080p. Nevertheless, for hard fare, there are other GPUs that are better equipped to deal with those difficult quality settings, even without the need to spend too much.
NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 5050 Review: 1440P Benchmark
Unexpectedly, RTX struggles to rise above its 1080p station, looking at its 8 GB on a thin bandwidth compared to the RTX 5060s. It climbed beyond 60fps only in the shade of the killer’s creed Mirage and Tomb raider, and in both cases, it is defeated by both 12GB Intel Arc B580-which is currently going for £ 240, which has become a direct budget rival. The previous generation of NVIDIA did not include an XX50 desktop GPU, but it is poorly piped by RTX 4060 for RTX 5050.
DLSS helps, and in fact, high resolution is always a better fit to deploy upscalers without a separate cut for visual proximity. Cyberpank 2077 certainly benefited, jumped from 48fps with DLSS on quality mode to a smooth 64fps. Other, unfortunately, still reduced. Horizon prohibited West – which, it should be said, to a large extent the steep droplets experienced on the RTX 5060 – only 54FPS with quality DLSS improved, while the equivalent settings of F1 24 pushed it to 47fps. B580 that can do the native rage, regret more than the same frame.
This level of framwiving effectively removes premium path tracing from the table, and although RTX 5050 can apply standard ray tracing without a complete cough to completely death, you are still looking at the big recession. The metro exodus ultra RT has fallen from 59fps to 42fps in addition to the effects, and cyberpank 2077 – Bracing yourself with DLSS – Psycho RT with only average 34fps can be enabled, almost half that was pulling the first one.

NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 5050 Review: 1080p Benchmark
Inside the warm hug of 1080p, there is very little difficulty in keeping the RTX 5050. Among my general ultra-curvature, indigenous resolution benchmark games, only the F1 24 60fps was average, and that particularly the ultra preset included some ray traveled effects. The quality was enough to get it up to 61FPS to connect DLSS. Sometimes, RTX 5050 also manages to shut down the difference with ARC B580, especially in the shadow of the Tomb raider and the killer’s creed mirage (two games, which probably move the best on 1440p).
Nevertheless, Intel’s GPU remains a rapidly rapid cheap card, and RTX 5050 is still haunted by the ghost of RTX 4060. RTX 5060, meanwhile, continuously far, far ahead, if you have received (or are getting) will not have a monitor with any fresh rate above 60Hz, then you will not have a difference.
Frame generation, at least, is more viable, is a accessory here than here – you always want a healthy base of regular frames with devices such as MFG (or FSR 3 or 4, or XESS 2 of Intel, or Intel’s XESS 2) to combat your added input lag. Especially on RTX 5050, the mind, it is still the best applied with a light touch. In Cyberpank 2077, this GPU took an average of 48FPS on a combination of ultra settings, quality DLSS and Psycho RT, which then increased to 89fps with 2x sets with MFG. It was a playable, delay-wise, and visually looked smooth: a frame gene success. In addition to switching on 4X mode, crank the gaps at this point, where the night city could flood with custard as well, for all accountability of driving controls and camera movements. It was not just worth 113fps, which you would note what is actually 4 x 48.
Alan Wake 2 had a similar problem, even without tracing without a ray. At high with quality DLSS, 48fps became 78FPS with 2x MFG, and was more or more flashy. 4X mode juice it all the way up to 144FPS, but again, additional interval made the target felt and impregnable. I still think that DLSS 4 is the best of current apascling/frame gene combos, especially on perpetual-visual quality, but when it is risky to go above 2x mode, MFG does not do much that DLSS can not do DLSS 3. And it is supported in the wider selection of sports compared to DLSS 4K MFG, as well as 4060-like price-cut RTX 40 GPU.

Not to overdo the dog’s analogy, but if RTX 5050 Was A puppy, it is probably more that prefers to shorten its walk so that it can curl a rejected towel back to the house. Because in its true comfort field, it begins to show the glow of being a loyal companion, and this area overlaps very neatly with the competitive shooter-end-or-world region. Counter-Strike 2? Most maps will do 100fps or more, easily. Dota 2? During a complete match I took an average of 114FPS on maximum settings. And at the top legends, high, there was no problem in filling the range of 144fps. It is true that any desktop GPU, originally launched in the last three years, will be pulled in the same number or better way, but even exemption to the mahosiv who will be a pure overs for these at 1080p, the RTX 5050 will do the cheapest.
Outside this multiplayer niche, however, there are simply better options. The ARC B580 may decrease the same degree of frame genes sophistication, but its direct performance reduces the benefit of help – and it is generally better for high resolutions, if you want to upgrade to 1440p or 1080p ultravide screens at any time. Extend your budget slightly forward, and you can alternately nab a base-pris RTX 5060, which is faster than both and prevents you from remembering any DLSS 4 features.
Then the RTX is 4060. The number of times I have brought it, I would not really suggest more than RTX 5050 readers to join us with states, where it is strangely living above the $ 300 line despite its age. On the other hand, Fellow should be able to find a new new between the Britis, £ 250 and £ 260: a little extra cash for a little additional performance.
