In this episode, Real Estate Mogul Don Peelas Philadelphia sits with 76res center and NBA all-star Andre Drummond twice.
Peelas made his debut as a real estate developer at Washington, DC, but when a major deal went south, he moved to Miami, where he won a bid to develop the Royal Palm Hotel. In doing so, Pabils became the first African American businessman to develop and develop a major hotel. Many years later, he bought members only the bath club.
“It was a barrier-breaker for black entrepreneurs,” says pibes. “I realized at that point that the business side could be used as a transformer and an energetizer.”

It eventually led the pulses Launch $ 500 million fund For minority developers in 2019. “It is important that we do not forget where we come from, and we do not twist our back to the rest of our society,” says Pables.
The message resonated with Drummond, which runs an annual free basketball camp at its hometown Midaltown, Connecticut. But there are even bigger plans for the future of Drummond. “I want to bring money to my city,” they say. “This is actually a small city; a lot is not really out. I want to start building an economy to start people’s jobs.”

Drummond, who played in NBA, when he was a teenager, has seen fellow athletes facing obstacles after retiring from the game. He wants to set an example for young athletes that it is fine – and even beneficial – for passion and projects beyond the court.
“We always knock out things outside our game,” they say. “If I can help the next person see this and tell them that it is okay to do things outside your game and expand your mind (beyond) outside the game, then we do not have a large number of people who are struggling to find out what to do after basketball.”

Peels agreed with the mentality of using someone’s game, which is a jumping point to make a whole career-one that would support athletes until they decide to retire, and they can pass their children to make generations.
“You can’t give your skills to your children, but you can give them your business,” says Pables. “And this is where there is a relay. It is the next generation. If we can get everyone to think in this way, we change our society.”
