How did I use Konki to make my Linux Desktop Coole

My customized cone widget stays at the lower left corner of my performance.

    Jack Walons/ZDDNet

    Key takeaways of zdnet

    • Conky is an adaptable desktop widget for Linux.
    • It can display all types of information.
    • With an easy GUI, it is easy to install the cone.

I love a cool Linux desktop configuration and spent many hours to tick him for many hours. In these years, I have found that your desktop is a way to avail the most, and it is with an app called Konki.

Conky is an overlay app that displays some types of information. For example, conky can display time, date, day, system resources, and more. You can configure Conki and configure where it stays on your desktop. In fact, practically there is no limit that you can do with the Kanki. It is super flexible. You can also configure many widgets in Konki for a completely individual form.

Before I continue, there are two ways to configure Konki: a difficult way and easy way. Since this is an introduction of Kanki, I am going to show you the easy way to install a Kanki, add theme and configure your widget.

Don’t worry, this is really simple.

    Let’s make some cones magic.

Also: Primary OS 8 continues the tradition of a beautiful, user friendly desktop

    Establish cone and cone manager

what you’ll need: To install conky, you will need linux with the Sudo privileges and a running institution of a user. I will display it at the pop! _OS Linux.

First, open your terminal window app.

Next, we will install Konki with the command:

    Sudo Apt-Get Install Conky-All -Y

    Let that establishment complete.

Next, we will install a GUI that makes the conky easy to run and configure. To do this, you must first add the required repository, which is done with the command:

    Sudo Add-REPOSITORY PPA: UbuntuhandBook1/conkymanager2

After you add repository, install the Kanki Manager with the command:

    Sudo Apt-Get Install Conky-Manager2 -Y

With those two pieces of the puzzle, let’s run and configure.

    Cone

It is time for that manager to use.

    1. Start cone manager

Open your desktop menu and search for cone manager. Click on the launcher, and the GUI will open.

Too: These 6 Linux apps are secret sauce for my creative process

    2. Start the cone

See the right-point arrow on the left side of the toolbar (looks like a “play” button from a music app). Click on that button to start the conky. You will not see anything on your desktop, as you have not selected a widget.

    Poping cone manager! _OS.

The use of cone manager cones makes so easy.

    Jack Walons/ZDDNet

    3. Add a widget

The Kanki manager includes some widgets by default. Click on a title ~/.Conky/Gotham/Gotham, and the widget should appear on your desktop. Out of the box, that widget is ugly in a way, so let’s make it a little up.

    4. Configure your widget

Click on the small green icon (it looks like a computer monitor) to open the edit widget window. On the first tab, you can customize where the widget lives on your desktop and even increases or decreases horizontal and vertical intervals (the location between the display edges and the widget).

The cone manager edits the widget window.

There are lots of adaptations that can be easily handled with the cone manager.

    Jack Walons/ZDDNet

You can also configure the widget, transparency, time and the size of the network adapter (if available) to use. It should only be taken a few quick clicks to get better looking cone widgets.

    Add new themes

If you are not satisfied with the default theme, you can always download more. Head on Gnome Look cone theme pageAnd you can scroll through the page after the page of the cone theme.

To add a new theme, find one you like and download it in your ~/download directory. Once you download the theme, go back to the manager and click on the import theme button (looks like a folder icon in the toolbar) and then find out the theme you have downloaded. Once you import the theme, it should appear in the list of widgets (the themes). Click on the radio button connected to the new theme to enable it.

Too: 7 things should be known before every Linux starts download your first distro

If you feel that the subject does not work for you, then disable it, find another, and install it. How well a subject for you will work, it will depend on your needs, beauty preferences and desktop wallpapers. Take your time in search of subjects, and you will find one that suits you completely.
