SSD gadget that protects my personal data (while makes me feel like James Bond)

    Adrian Kingesley-Hughes/ZD

Most of us already know that it is a bad idea to carry unknovated data on the portable drive. The results of that data falling into the wrong hands can open you or your company from harmful to a potentially open headache.

But encrypting data on the outer drive can also be a pain. If you want to run separate applications, things quickly get a big problem, and how the data is left unnecessary.

Also: 10 small equipment I take with me everywhere – and how they work

But what if there was a way to easily encrypted and decryp data without messing up with any application? Ok, there is, and I guarantee you that you will feel like James Bond every time you use Kingston Ironi,

SSD looks like any regular SSD, except that there is a screen. It is a touchscreen, and you use it to input your passcode and change the drive settings.

Also: My new favorite kitchen holder can carry up to 14 keys (and is trackable by phone)

This drive is one of the easiest and most convenient ways to encry the data while moving. The initial setup for this drive took second – I had to input my secret passcode – and it was ready to use it.

And I have the use of it.

This drive has been with me in three continents and a handful of countries across Britain, and it is getting stronger.

And while this drive is very good in obtaining data for XTS-AES 256-bit hardware encryption, it does much more than that. For example, it has a random on-screen keyboard (so finger smuds do not remove your passcode), a read-only mode to prevent data (or malware) from being written on the drive, and an automatic timeout when you forget to evict the drive.

Why do I recommend this product

There is a lot that I like Kingston Iron’s Walt Privacy 80 SSDIt is also available in four capabilities, so you are buying only the amount you need. I had a 960GB version, which is fine for me, but if you are a data hog, you can get one that is 7.6TB (which will set you back a cool $ 965).

I also like how comfortable the use of this drive is. Whatever you need to know is on touchscreen, so you do not have to understand what some combinations of blinking lights mean. A screen makes all differences, and by making it a touchscreen it is convenient and familiar to use.

I have tried a lot of different encrypted drives, but I keep returning to it. I love how simple this encryption makes. This is quite a challenge, yet Kingston Iron’s Walt Privacy 80 SSD Complets it easily. Simply put, it is an incredible drive to secure your data.
