The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra House is one of the most versatile camera systems on a mainstream phone, thanks to its two telephoto cameras and an ultravide sensor, which is coupled with the primary camera of 200MP.

But Oppo Pati X8 Ultra is equally, if more, is not versatile. It has large sensors on four 50mp cameras on its back. In addition, Oppo flagship is combined with one Renewed Hussellad Partnership – For additional features like Xpan mode, better portrait, and such as Hasselblad natural color solutionEngineer again for mobile.
I was confused about which phone to take on my journey to Sweden, so I took both and compared the results, which are interesting.

Oppo and Samsung’s flagship are some of the best phones of 2025. Both Sports are four rear cameras, but three of them have X8 Ultra House large sensors. It is led by a 50MP main sensor of 1 inch-type, which snatches better quality photos than Samsung’s 200MP primary camera.
But these are the rest of the sensors that help it take the lead. The 10MP 3x optical zoom Samsung telephoto camera does not give any chance against Oppo’s 50MP 3x optical zoom -backed periscope camera, while it competes closely in ultravide shots and 50MP secondary 5X (Oppo) periscope zoom photos on 5x (6X (6X 6X.

There is no doubt that the Find X8 Ultra has a better camera package than the Galaxy S25 Ultra, thanks to its large sensor and Hasellad color science. But it can also be inconsistent at times, Samsung’s Galaxy S25 gives an edge to ultra. Here is described how both of them compare my holiday pictures.
It’s all about color science
Oppo Find X8 Ultra better exposes subjects in most of the scenarios. This brightens the subject in the position of harsh lighting, making them (almost) look artificial, but I will still like it on Samsung’s under-exposed shots. For example, in the above shots, my face looks better in the left image than Samsung’s 3x portrait. Samsung has a hot venture, while Oppo’s shot looks more vibrant.
Oppo can overdo processing several times. None of the above shots is correct, but I will choose the Galaxy S25 Ultra photo because it does not look artificial.

Unannounced, it retains the tone of my skin and looks more real, while Oppo blows highlights to an extent. This is one of the inconsistent processing scenarios that occur once at once, but if you have not left a backup shot, it can ruin the photo vibe of the photo.
The inconsistent processing is limited to a position of harsh light only. Otherwise, Oppo discovery X8 Ultra defeats Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra in every scenario. It shoots better looking shots in continuous low light. Notice bulbs on this lamp; Samsung did not get the details, and the overall shot has more noise, while the image of Oppo is sharp.
6x Oppo Optical Zoom vs 5x Samsung Optical Zoom

The story continues on his respective periscope zoom cameras. The 6x zoom of Oppo captures more details, natural bokeh, and no noise, even low light. Samsung’s shot looks dull despite stretching a significant amount of details, while Galaxy S25 pops the color of Oppo compared to Ultra.
Samsung competes better in ultravide images. Both phones process saturated colors with lots of details for low-light shots. Outside, Galaxy S25 Ultra and Oppo X8 Ultra Capture find equally good looking shots, but the vibrant looking color science of Oppo appeals more for me.
Oppo takes the cake in pictures
Shot 6x portraits on oppo, locate x8 ultra
Prakhar Khanna/ZDNET
I will be able to get X8 Ultra above the Galaxy S25 Ultra for portrait shots on any day. Even on 6x, portrait shots look fantastic, thanks to Hasselbalad Color Science. In the event of a bright lighting, it processes a natural looking bokeh and suits the tone of its surroundings.
For example, the above two photos were taken near the sea, so they have a cooler tone, but a picture taken during sunset would have a warm tone.
To compare, Samsung’s shot looks less vibrant and has an aggressive spot around the edges of the subject, which makes a portrait shot unnatural. While it maintains the color of my shirt better, saves Oppo’s picture Feeling Place with your warm tone in straight sunlight.

Find Xpan Mode X8 Ultra on Oppo
Prakhar Khanna/ZDNET
There are many things – such as 6x Tele Macro and Xpan Mode – that you will find only X8 Ultra on Oppo. For unknown, Xpan mode is available on OnePlus and Oppo flagship phones. This is inspired by the Xpan feature of Hasselblad, which allows you to capture panoramic shots in a unique 65:24 aspect ratio.
I love it because how can I be able to do scenes like Artistic roof or beautiful places in the palace? Certainly not with a regular panorama mode.
Ground level
Samsung gets a lot of things correct, such as not adding camera control-like buttons, which hinders the landscape shooting experience on my Oppo phone. However, the South Korean veteran needs to work on tuning color science, if he wants to challenge the choice of Oppo Find X8 Ultra. For now, I will happily choose Oppo flagship on a Galaxy S25 Ultra for my Hasselblad colors, better portraits, master mode and xpan mode.
