PinternyaAn Indonesian Employment Forum that goes beyond the job by offering full-time and side-gig opportunities as well as financial services, stating that it has raised a $ 16.7 million series A round.
The funding was led by Square Peg with the current investors Wartax Venture South East Asia and India and East Ventures.
Ghirish Pokardas, Nelli Nurmalasari, and Henry Hendravan founded Pinternya in 2022, faced with Indonesian people to face the two biggest challenges: enough to make sufficient earning and responsibility.
“Traditionally, in Indonesia, large-scale workers get offline jobs through job fairs or mouth words, were buried in paper applications with employers and candidates rarely listen back. To borrow, their options are often limited to hunter lenders with family/friends or hunter collection practices,” Henry Handran, Pantarin’s Sah-Founder said. “We digitize the job matching with AI to hiring fast and we provide workers with a safe, healthy lending options – which they can, instead of that they can reach the depth in debt.”
About 59% of Indonesia’s 150 million workforce is employed in informal sector, Thrown light on These workers face difficulties in reaching formal financial services as they lack verification and official employment documentation.
Pinternya faced this challenge by partnered with asset-supported lenders to offer safe loans using collaterals such as gold, electronics, or vehicles, saying Hendravan said.
Since its seed funding in 2022, the platform currently works across the country to users and 40,000 employers with more than 10 million job seekers. Handron said that its revenue has increased by about five times the year from year to year and it is expected to reach the break-break by the end of the year. Pintarnya mainly serves users between the ages of 21 to 40, most of which have a diploma below a high school education or university level. The aim of the startup is to focus on this understanding segment in view of the large population of blue-collar and informal workers in Indonesia.

“Through the journey of building employment services, we found that our users only needed more than jobs – they needed access to financial services that could not provide traditional banks,” Hendravan said. “We digitize the job matching with AI to hiring fast and we provide workers with a safe, healthy lending options – which they can, instead of that they can reach the depth in debt.”

While Indonesia already has job platforms such as Jobstreet, Kalibrr, and Glint, they mainly complete white-collar roles, which, according to Hendravan, represent only a small portion of the workforce. The platform of Pintarnya is specifically designed for blue-collar workers, which provides favorable connections such as quick-apple options for walk-in interviews, inexpensive e-learning on relevant skills, in-app opportunities for supplementary income and financial services such as in-app opportunities and loan-like financial services.
The same trend is evident in the Fintech region of Indonesia, which similarly completes white collar or upper-middle-class consumers. Traditional credit scoring models for loans, which rely on stable monthly income and bank account activity, often abandoned blue-collar workers ignored by existing fintech providers, explaining by Hendravan.
Asked which demands are the highest in the demand, Hendravan mentioned, “Given their employment status, lending to the users of Pinternya today is the most demanding.
The new funding will enable Pinternya to strengthen its platform technology and to broaden its financial services through strategic participation. Along with most Indonesian workers working in blue-collar and informal fields, co-founders see adequate development opportunities in the local market. Taking advantage of their widespread experience in managing businesses in Southeast Asia, they are also open to discover regional expansion when the time is correct.
“Our vision is for Pinternya to be everyday companions, which not only prepares the Indonesian people to fulfill today, but also gives the right to increase, grow and upgrade their lives tomorrow … In five years, we see Pintiranya as a Go-Two Super App for Indonesian workers, not only to earn income, but as a reliable partner, Randravannya said” “We want to be the first stop when a person is looking for work, a place that helps them upgrade their skills, and as a reliable guide they make financial decisions.”
