Key takeaways of zdnet
- Macos spotlight now allows you to do more.
- You can send emails and messages without opening the application quickly.
- It is made in the facility and is free to use.
So far, I think Macos Tahoe upgrade is the best update from Apple that I can miss. This is very good, it has also changed my mind about using the widget. Not only the liquid glass UI is the supreme elegant, but the spotlight tool is eventually for the function of modern use.
Case in point, ability to send direct messages and emails from the spotlight search bar.
You read that right. Now you can send messages and emails from within the spotlight, first without opening Apple Mail or IMESSAGE. It is convenient and acts like an attraction. I have been using this facility for a few days now and found myself doing less and less work with the mail app.

Of course, you cannot answer the messages or read the messages to come, but as far as sending quick emails to people, it is a way to go.
Not notice I said “Quick email.” You are not going to use this feature to send paragraphs after paragraphs (although I think you can), so I will keep it in mind before starting using the spotlight for this purpose.
Adding an action to the spotlight
You have to add an action before you can send the first message or email from within the spotlight. An action really seems to be – it allows you to use the spotlight for purposes other than searching. There are actions for timer, notes, various apps (such as your default web browser), and more. The action I display is email.
To add email action, follow these steps.
To open the spotlight, hits the CMD+Space Keyboard Shortcut, which brings the spotlight search bar.

In the action window, send emails and then click on the relevant “Add Quick Kunj”. After clicking on “Adding Quick Kunj”, you will see a cursor, where you will give a name to the action. I used email as my quick key. Give it as simple names as possible, as you are going to use it to inform the spotlight that you want to send an email.

After naming the quick key, click on the action window to dismiss it.

Sending an email from the spotlight
Open the spotlight again (CMD+space) and type your quick key (in my case, in email) and then type. Spotlight should now say “send messages with the theme of recipients.” Click in the message section what you will do and type the message. Next, hit the tab and type your subject. Finally, hit the tab and type the email address (S) of the recipient (S) of the email.
Spotlight makes this process very clear and easy.

Once you have a message composed in the spotlight, enter your keyboard, and the message will be sent.
And all this is to send emails through the spotlight. If you also use iMessage, you can add that feature and send messages without opening the app quickly.
