When Hung Tonga-Hanga Haapai Jwalamukhi blew up its top in 2022, it was not one of the most powerful explosions in modern history-it was truly created in space.

The explosion sent more than 31 miles (50 kilometers) ash and a large pile of gas, which performs far away, where commercial jets cruise and most seasons remain. But what really blows the minds of scientists? The wave effect did not stop there. It is running all the way for the upper environment, where our satellite surrounds the planet.

A new study Published AGU Advance explains how the Gargantuan explosion managed to stand a part of the planet. Most volcanoes never touch. Using satellite data and atmospheric modeling, the researchers tested two convicts: lamb waves – pressure waves that “throat” the Earth’s surface – and secondary gravitational waves, which are produced when uh, the first wave of waves, high breakdown in the sky.

Researchers found that secondary gravitational waves were criminals, as their sharp movements and large magnitude better matched with the team studied satellite data. Originally, the explosion of the tongear made a shock so intense that he shook the sky.

Conclusions complement earlier research that Hanga Tonga-Hung Hapai explosion gave a subtle seismic signature- a reel wave-First The explosion began, detectable by seismometer over 400 miles (644 km). This wave – is the same for humans – a rare and unseen clue was that something was going to be frightening. Together, these studies suggest that large -scale volcanoes do not just shake the ground – they shake the entire environment, from seaflor to the edge of the space. Now scientists are realizing that Earth’s most violent explosions can leave many early fingers – if we know (and when) to see.

Team’s study also reminds that what happens on the surface of the Earth can also bother the edge of the space – an area that we rely for rapid communication, weather tracking and climate modeling and GPS. The better we understand how such incidents get out of our sources, the better we can protect the technique that we depend to work here.
