2024 was a terrible year for Sonos. The long-awaited entry in a crowded headphone market was accepted by launching a bungalow app, with a knock-on impact, which planned to be done by the company for the rest of the year. In addition, those ace headphones were remembering a major feature.

A year later, that Trusinema spatial audio enhancement is finally ready. And with that update, Sonos added some more improvement to ACE, including two-individual TV audio swaps, adaptive noise cancellations and better calls. I spent some time to test every aspect of the update that came in June, to determine if Sonos headphones are really better after twice.

    Truecinema is finally here

The first time I tried Ace at a press event in the previous spring, one of the main parts of Trusinema Demo was. By jumping, Sonos was clear that it would not come when the headphones first went on sale, but I did not even expect the company to take a whole year to prepare it.

In the form of a refresher, Trusinema is a feature for ACE that takes into account the sounds of room where a soundbar is located. This then creates spatial audio for the headphones based on the information when the TV audio swap is activated. According to Sonos, it is believed that “it understands the dynamics of your location, treats it acoustically and makes it sound as if you have a beautiful tund 3D audio system in your headphone.” It is similar to the company’s truple tuning that calibrates your soundbar in your living room or home theater space.

Sonos has made Trusinema the champion as a more realistic hearing experience. Since it simulates the characteristics of the room, it is believed that you seem that you are not wearing a headphone. I am not convinced at that point, but this feature greatly increases Ace’s spatial audio capabilities for the TV audio swap.

For example, subtle details in films – things like maps, as well as various beeps, click and taps in Wicked forest – are much more pronounced with Trusinima. The sound is more overall depth and direction, which makes optimal mode to watch TV or movies with Sonos’ headphones. I am confident that my review score would have been more if it would have been part of the original package because it makes such a clear improvement in sound quality.

For the last year, the marquee feature for Sonos Ace is swaping TV audio. This allows you to send a sound from a compatible sonos soundbar to the headphone for a personal hearing experience. Of course, this means that you can see an action flicks in full quantity after going to your family going to bed or after harassing your partner without harassing your partner. It has done a good job for me during my review and during that time.

Unfortunately, I do not have a second pair of Ace, so I can’t Wach for how well the TV audio swap now works with a partner. But since the ability to send soundbar audio to two sets of Ace headphones is one of the main items in the recent software updates, I cannot discuss the overall position of the device without mentioning the availability of this feature.

    Better ANC and clear calls

Another aspect of ACE update has been improved in active noise cancellation (ANC), but not the way you can expect. The company did not reveal a way to block more noise, but it is responsible for any sound leaks that can affect the performance. Sonos says that its sophisticated ANC setup can be suited to a change in the fit due to hair, glasses and hats using the sensor inside ACE. With that twice, I saw a slight difference in the performance of ANC when sunglasses or a hat kept the ear pad away from the flush on my face, but it is not quite good as a tight seal. I will mark this update as a slight improvement, but it is still an improvement.

Sonos also claims that this software update provides a better call experience for high resolution audio. The company also added sidetone, or the ability to pipe your voice during the call when ANC is enabled. Many companies have this, for different degrees, and effectiveness depends on how natural the sound is and whether you are able to make any adjustments. In the case of Ace, the Sidetone acts as a increased environment mode, and it definitely improves call experience. Since I could normally speak and did not feel the need to shout to hear myself, video and voice calls looked more natural.

    Wrap

A year after his launch, Sonos Ace is meeting the high expectations set by the company on the arrival of Ace headphones. After spending time with this batch of update, I am sure Ace will benefit from getting ready at the time of launch, especially Truecinema. Since one of the main functions of Ace is to listen to the individual living room, it takes so long to give the facility that will promote the quality of sound, it is another wrong.

On the other hand, it is good to see that Sonos is still working to improve Ekka. When you believe that the company has spent most of the 2024 to fix a major bottled app redesign, it makes sense whether Sonos left the ace until the version 2.0 was not the time. The company had to delay products in the last summer, and according to a report in March, it completely canceled another. When CEO Patrick Spens resigned in January, interim Chief Executive Officer Tom Conrad expressed the need to “return to the basics” (Conrad (Conrad was named Permanent CEO on 23 July). Improving a major new product that was a poorly overched, is definitely a way to recover some of your reputation. It also does not hurt that Ace is currently available for $ 149 which is less than its original $ 449 value.
