Bunting, tear tumblr users, it seems that the report of 4chan’s death was prematurely. Earlier in April, a hack of the notorious aelord imageboard ended by someone from a rival board called Soyazack. Now it is back, with one blog post Explaining how “horrific” damage was possible.
“While not all our servers were not violated, the most important was one, and it was only due to not updating the old operating system and code in fashion on time. Ultimately the problem occurred due to inadequate skilled human-hour available to update our code and infrastructure, and advertisers, payment providers, and advertisers, payment providers, and to serve due to years of money for services.”
The hack included a “fake PDF upload” and therefore PDF uploading has been temporarily disabled on 4chan revived. The facility will return, but nothing else will happen. “A slow but very favorite board, / F / – flash, though will not return, because .SWF is not a realistic way to prevent the same feat using the .SWF files.”
There is no mention of the fact that 4chan pass subscribers, who pay to quit captcha verification, were stolen their personal information. Which seems like a major problem for the long -term health of the site, given that oblivion is the entire point of 4chan. Nevertheless, the blog hosted on the 4chan hate enemies Tumblr, assuming its return as a win: “4chan is back. No other website can change it, or this community. No matter how difficult it is, we are not giving up.”
