Since 2024, the number of steam-reliefing games using any type of AI content has increased seven times. This means that around 7,800 titles are using artificial intelligence, and although I am not happy about it – there may be some validity.
Fully according to a pair of human media studiesSteam only featured some 1,000 games with generic AI content in April last year. As of July 2025, there are fast-forward, and around 8,000 of them, about 20 percent of all steam games released this year and seven percent of the entire steam library. Generative AI, there is considerable improvement between those two dates, video games are growing significantly, and it seems that the indies and small, with their proper part of less serious projects, is quite magnets for it.

This seven -fold increase occurs as a result of large and small use of large and small devices and technologies of developers, either to speed up or cheaper. Completely the human media did extensive research to see what kind of studio generative AIs use AI, such as a large -scale title Decisive And both Indi Productions appear in critical numbers.
I am not a fan of general AI in any case, especially in art. However, the findings of human media completely indicate a particularly gray field, ie, indie game.
In studies, several examples of the use of generic AI showed both Indie developers reveal and why they chose the option to use such techniques. The explanation between the cost of development is very high, otherwise artists require inspiration and have a difficult time to see the concepts.
These two are for better or worse, legitimate points. Without such a device, we probably do not get a wave of new Indie titles that can actually be good games, AI can be cursed.
It definitely opens Possibility For discussion. While I will prefer AI to be purified with video games and art once and for all, technology is not that Thanos is out of existence only. Nor do the major studios and publishers who care about speed and green numbers on only one chart take a stand against it.
Perhaps we should learn to live with it and push for rules that can otherwise turn harmful tools into some value.
My stance here is not firm, and i don’t really believe that i Be able to Ever accept artificiality in any form of art, sports are included. But, if it acts to enable Indie development which would be otherwise impossible … so, for hell with it, Perhaps He is alright.
What do you think, Destartoids? If it would be impossible to make without the help of an Indie game, a good Indie game, AI, is it justified to use it? Tell me below.
