Streaming video platform search results are rolling a new way to display results. While officially not related, this feature is similar to Google’s AI overview.
YouTube gave an example A short video showing featureIf you discover something like “Best Beaches in Carolinas”, you will see AI-written Hindola of AI-written details on each clip as well as the AI-Janit Hindola of videos that highlight various beaches.

If you discover a topic like “Best Noise-Censeling Headphone”, you will see a carousel of reviews highlighting the benefits of many headphone options. Tapping on any video opens it in an entire window in the relevant section, causing you the problem of opening and tapping a clip until you get what you want.
The difference between this and general discovery is that the results appear in the “highlights” pane where you can easily tap the video and find relevant information quickly within each clip.

This feature is currently open to YouTube premium members on Android or iOS equipment for discoveries related to shopping, travel or tourism. If users prefer feature, it is almost certain that we will see it roll out for more users.
In addition, a communist AI chatbot is coming to some non-Primdium users. If you tap on the “Ask” button that appears on some videos, you will see a new window to learn more. You can ask for more information about a video, ask for further recommendations, and even quiz on key concepts in a video. This conversation occurs when your original video is playing.
