Amazon Diagnostics launched in India offers a doorstep sample collection in six cities

Amazon India on Sunday announced the launch of its diagnostics services in the country. The new Amazon Diagnostics service from e-commerce giants provides a pickup of testing samples from the customer’s door. Users can book lab tests, schedules and track appointments through the Amazon app and use digital reports. The service developed in partnership with Orange Health Labs has been rolled out in six cities in India.

Amazon says that users can book a test and its delivery partners pick up samples between 6 to 10 pm. For regular trials, users can get back digital reports within six hours. Currently their service is available in more than 450 pin codes, and provides over 800 diagnostics tests.

Amazon Diagnostics is the expansion of the company’s medical services in the country. It already offers virtual counseling with doctors through the Amazon Clinic and delivery at the door of prescription drugs via Amazon Pharmacy.

The company also claims that it is integrating end-to-end experience with features such as real-time slot visibility, map-based address validation and safe digital report access through Amazon Health Dashboard. Amazon says that it will follow “stringent data privacy and quality standards”, but has not shared details about these features.
