Following several complaints about the photo app redigation in iOS18, Apple is tweeting the app and feel of the app in its new OS release, which is now branded as iOS 26.
The change was mentioned on Monday during the keynote speaker at Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC 25); Apple said it was bringing a tabd interface back in the photo, although it would not look as before.
“Many of you missed using the tab in the photo app,” said Craig Federighi Senior Vice President of Software Engineering – which is close as Apple, will ever get to accept that there was a mistake with the overhaul of the app last year. “Photos now offer separate tabs for the library and for the collection,” he said, demo the update.
In the collection, you will find your favorite, your albums, and you can search in your library.

Meanwhile, the library tab makes it easy to scroll through recent photos – a user interface is clearly preferred.
Due to changes in photographs in iOS18, some backlash became, as it centralize in every way, with which you can organize and arrange your photos on the same page. Some developers also capitalized on backlash, offering third -party photo apps, who promised to bring back the old user interfaces for a fee.
Also in iOS 26 update, photo app is capable of converting your 2D photos into 3D spatial photos. This feature can be seen on the updated lock screen of the iPhone and is inspired by Apple’s Vision Pro Spatial Computing Headset.
Pnth related, the iPhone and iPad’s camera apps were updated to make it easier to find many of its features. The app now displays two capture modes that you use the most on the main screen: Photo and Video. To reveal additional mode, you can swipe your finger left or right. Here, you can switch to things like portrait mode, cinematic mode and others. To reach other settings – such as flash, timer, aperture, and more – now you will swipe from under the screen.
You can also change the format with a tap, which is helpful to switch between HD and 4K resolution or adjust the frame rate on the video.
